Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 22 MarCheshvan*, in which you describe to me what you are being subjected to and the obstacles being placed before you. I hope that these efforts on the part of the "other side" arouse in you additional strengths, which will enable you to carry out your holy mission — that of education based on sacred values, which draws the hearts of the children of Israel close to our Father Who is in heaven. This evokes the explanation, making reference to a similar motivation, which appears in Iggeres HaKodesh*, at the end of chapter 25, in the case where one pays attention to all of this and meditates on the descent that is thus imposed upon the Shechinah*, if one may express oneself thus. You will consult this text. Indeed, we have been given the assurance that, thanks to the self-sacrifice that the Alter Rebbe* demonstrated for Chassidus*, the Heavenly Court decided that in everything concerning the Torah*, the fear of Hashem*, and good conduct, those who are attached to him and follow his path would have the upper hand.

We are approaching Kislev*, the month of miracles and deliverance. The timely Mitzvah* consists of lighting candles, illuminating in an ever-increasing manner, even though the sun has set. May Hashem* therefore grant that it be so in the domain that has just been mentioned, with joy and enthusiasm. You will convey my greetings to those who share with you this sacred mission. Of course, what has just been said is addressed to them as well. With my blessing to convey good news,

P.S.: You are surely preparing a program for the month of Kislev* in general, the 10th, the 19th, and Chanukah*, in particular. May Hashem* grant you success in this matter as well.

במענה למכתבו מכ"ב מ"ח, בו כותב אודות הגורמים המפריעים, ותקותי שההשתדלות מהלעו"ז מעוררת בהם כחות נוספים למילוי תפקידם בקדש, מלאכת שמים חינוך עטה"ק המקרב לבם של בני ישראל לאבינו שבשמים, והוא מעין המבואר באגה"ק סוף סי' כ"ה התעוררות כזו - מענין זה עצמו, כשישים אל לבו ויתבונן ענין ירידת השכינה כביכול וכו' עיי"ש, והרי הובטחנו אשר בגלל המס"נ הלזו (של רבנו הזקן) על תורת החסידות, פסקו בבי"ד של מעלה, אשר בכל ענין של תורה יראת שמים ומדות טובות, תהי' יד מקושריו והולכי בעקבותיו על העליונה...

ובהתקרבנו לחדש כסלו הוא חדש הנסים והגאולה - שמצות היום בהדלקת נר אור ובאופן דמוסיף והולך אף ששקעה החמה, הנה יהי רצון שיקוים כל זה בעבודה האמורה מתוך שמחה וטוב לבב.
