Blessings and greetings,

I am responding to your letter of 7 Cheshvan*, in which you inform me of the doctors' proposals concerning your treatment. It is clear that in such a case, one begins with the easiest and simplest — that is, only the baths at Tiberias. May Hashem* grant that the success be complete. Hashem* will fulfill the wish of your heart and you will soon have a child. This gives me the occasion to repeat to you what you surely remember. When you were here, I said and repeated to your husband, the Rav Shlita*, that he must be more scrupulous about everything concerning his food and drink, in order to preserve the health of his body. First of all, this is a Torah* injunction, since, in the words of the Rambam*, "having a healthy and wholesome body is part of the ways of Hashem*." Moreover, this is particularly important when it comes to having a child.

I saw immediately that your husband paid no importance to this. That is why I repeated my words, but since your return to the Holy Land, I am very much afraid that your husband, the Rav*, is neglecting this precaution and does not even accord it an accessory role. Of course, what I mean by such negligence is, in this case, quite simple. Let him ask a doctor how he should eat and at what time to do so, which foods are good and healthful. And let him do the same for everything that can have an impact on his physical health. May Hashem* grant that he proceed in this way, at least in the future, if necessary through submission, provided that he does it concretely. Nothing stands before the will, and if he truly wants to, he will succeed. Of course, I wish that you show this letter to your husband, the Rav*. May Hashem* grant that he be convinced. במענה למכתבה מז' חשון, בו כותבת הצעת הרופאים בהנוגע לטפולים,

ומובן שבכגון דא מתחילים בהקל ופשוט יותר, ז.א. אמבטיות טבריא גרידא. ויהי רצון שיצליח הטפול במילואו, והשי"ת ימלא משאלות לבבם לזחו"ק בקרוב ממש.

וכאן מקום אתי להעיר, שבודאי זוכרים, שבהיותם כאן אמרתי וכפלתי לבעלה הרב שליט"א, שעליו להשגיח ולדייק יותר בעניני אכילה ושתי' ובכלל בבריאות הגוף, שנוסף על העיקר - שציווי תוה"ק הוא זה ובלשון הרמב"ם, היות הגוף בריא ושלם מדרכי השם הוא, הנה זה נוגע לענינם הפרטי לזחו"ק. על אתר ראיתי, שמתיחס הוא להענין באופן דמהיכי תיתי. ולכן כפלתי דברי. ומאז חזרו לאה"ק ת"ו - מתגדל אצלי החשש שאפילו באופן דמהיכי תיתי אין בעלה הרב שי' משגיח על הנ"ל. ומובן שהשגחה בכזה - כוונתי פשוטה, שישאל אצל רופא סדר וזמני האכילה ומיני המאכלים בריאים וטובים, וכן בהנוגע לשאר הענינים הנוגעים בבריאות הגוף,

ויהי רצון שעכ"פ מכאן ולהבא יעשה האמור, ולו יהא בקבלת עול, ובלבד שיבוא הענין בפועל. ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון. ואם ירצה - יעשה.
