Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your request for a blessing of 5 Tishrei*, which will be read, at a propitious moment, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us. You mention the custom of saying, at the end of the Shemoneh Esrei*, a verse corresponding to one's name (note 2: Beginning with the first letter and ending with the last letter of that name). Many Chassidim* have, indeed, the custom of saying, before the words "Yihyu leratzon" — "May the words of my mouth be pleasing" — the verse corresponding to their name, as well as the one corresponding to the name of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit will protect us.

No doubt you are strengthening the effort to spread the wellsprings (note 3: Of Chassidus*), until they reach the outside — the outside that one carries within oneself and the one that is found in the other. Nothing stands before the will, in particular in this domain, which is the need and the necessity of the moment, as well as a personal duty for each individual. With my blessing for a joyous holiday and to convey good news of all this,

כמה מהחסידים נהגו לומר לפני יהי רצון הפסוק השייך לשמם וכן הפסוק השייך לשם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

בודאי מוסיף בעבודת הפצת המעינות (ועד שיפוצו גם) חוצה, בחוצה של עצמו וביחוד של הזולת, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון ובפרט בענין הנ"ל שהוא דרישת והכרח השעה וחובת גברא.
