I reply to your letter.

I thank you for sending me an excerpt of your article. You ask me whether it should be modified.

In my opinion, at least two points should be:

A) One recognizes, in your manner of writing, great precautions taken so that it does not become evident that you are a Lubavitcher Chassid. It is unfortunate that you have directed your efforts to this point. First of all, the time is past when one suffered difficulties because one was a Chassid. Henceforth, the contrary is true. Moreover, you are already known as a Chabad Chassid. Concealing this fact is therefore useless — indeed, it is the contrary attitude that you must adopt.

B) My father-in-law, the Rebbe, conceives the greatest pleasure in seeing that his actions continue and develop. Each article, each piece of information given by a good friend must therefore indicate to the reader that his work is being maintained and is expanding. One can in no way be content with a hesped (eulogy).

No doubt your mother is doing better. Her condition will continue to improve and you will be able to give me good news on this point.

I conclude by expressing the wish and the blessing that you and each member of your family pass the summer in good health and in calm, in every respect, in each place where you find yourselves.

א) ניכרת בהכתיבה זהירות גדולה שלא יהי' ניכר כלל שהכותב הוא ג"כ מחסידי ליובאוויטש. וחבל על הטרחא בזה ראשית כי כבר עבר הזמן שהי' מקום לחשש אשר עי"ז שידעו את הנ"ל יהיו קישויים בעניניו ועתה נהפך הוא, והשנית כי כבר נודע הדבר אשר מחסידי חב"ד הוא וא"כ ההשתדלות להעלים ללא תועלת. ואדרבה.

ב) קורת רוח היותר גדולה של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ הוא שיהיו כל פעולותיו חיות קיימות והולכות וגדלות ולכן כל מאמר וידיעה פון א גוטן פריינד צריך להשאיר אצל הקורא רושם אשר העבודה הולכת ונמשכת ומתפתחת ולא רושם של הספד לחוד.

בודאי הוקל כבר לאמו תי' וילך מצבה הלוך וטוב ויהי' בידו להודיע בשו"ט בזה.
