By the grace of Hashem,
25 Tammuz 5710,
To the young man, Chassid* who fears Hashem,
Rav ...,
I greet you and bless you.
I reply to your letter.
May Hashem grant that you be a worthy receptacle for all the blessings, material and spiritual, that my father-in-law, the Rebbe, granted you, and which will be fully realized.
You have surely consulted what the Hayom Yom says, on the date of 11 Nissan, concerning a birthday.
You are reaching your twentieth year, and it is then the Sefirah of intellectual revelation that is revealed, as Likkutei Torah Bamidbar explains in the discourse entitled "Ben Esrim Shanah." It would therefore be good for you to begin putting on the Tefillin* of Rabbeinu Tam, without making it a vow.[1]
Likewise without making it a vow, you will read each day the Tehillim of the Rebbe, which is currently chapter 71.[2]
