By the grace of Hashem,

25 Tammuz 5710,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav I.,[1]

I greet you and bless you.

I received in its time your letter, with your request for a blessing. As you wished, I read it near the tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, and then in his office, where he received people and granted blessings.

The tzaddik blesses, and the Holy One, blessed be He, fulfills his blessings completely, for he is found in this world more than during his lifetime.

I hope[2] that it is unnecessary to specify and clarify the necessity of attaching oneself to the leader, my father-in-law, the Rebbe — by studying his teaching and adopting the practices he taught us.

You have no doubt fixed a time to study his teaching, expressed in his maamarim, his sichos, his letters. It is good that this study be collective, so that one comes to the help of the other and strengthens him.

Obviously,[3] this in no way exempts from the studies that are incumbent on all,[4] in particular the daily ones that concern each person — the Chumash with Rashi's commentary, the Tehillim according to their monthly distribution, and the Tanya, as it has been distributed for each day of the year by my father-in-law, the Rebbe.

You have no doubt received the reply to your telegram.

Without making it a vow, I will mention your names and that of your aunt, in the office and near the tomb, for the satisfaction of all your needs, as you ask in your letter.

You surely read each day, without making it a vow, the Tehillim of the Rebbe, which is currently chapter 71. You will do so at least until 10 Shevat 5711. You will consult paragraph 11 of the sicha* contained in the booklet published for 12 Tammuz 5710.

Wishing you all the best and with my Mazel Tov for the bris of your son. You will educate him, with your other children, in Torah, in the chuppah and in good deeds.

מכתבו עם הפ"נ בעתו נתקבל, וכבקשתו קראתיו על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, ובהיכלו ששם נכנסים ליחידות ולנתינת פ"נ,

וצדיק מברך והשי"ת ממלא ברכות צדיק, דאשתכח בהאי עלמא יתיר מבחיוהי, על מילואן.

תקותי אשר אין נזקק להערה ולהארה אדות ענין ההתקשרות לנשיא הוא כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, אשר ההתקשרות הוא ע"י למוד תורתו והליכה בדרכיו אשר הורה.

ובטח יש לו קביעות עתים ללימוד תורת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ אשר במאמריו שיחותיו ומכתביו. ומה טוב אם הלימוד הוא בחבורה אשר איש את רעהו יחזקו ויעוררו.

ומובן אשר אין זה פוטר משאר השיעורים אשר כל אחד ואחד מחויב בהם. ובכללם שיעורים השוים לכל נפש בחק יומי והם: חומש עם פרש"י, תהלים כמו שנחלק לימי החודש, תניא כפי שנחלק לימי השנה על ידי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ.

באיחול כ"ט וברכת מז"ט להכניס בנם שי' בבריתו של א"א ולגדלו, עם שאר ילדיהם שי' לתורה חומע"ט.
