By the grace of Hashem,

20 Tammuz 5710,

To the Chassid* who fears Hashem and faithfully discharges his mission, Rav ...,

I greet you and bless you.

I was happy to meet you, after such a long interruption. This meeting was agreeable to me from various points of view. On the one hand, I saw you among the Chassidim. It was, moreover, the birthday of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, and also the day of his liberation,[1] which is also ours. Even more, we found ourselves near the tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, where the highest blessings are revealed.

I was also satisfied to see that you bring Chassidim Cohanim[2] to the tomb. It is clear that, in seeking the merit of others, you yourself acquire great merit. Your hiskashrus to my father-in-law, the Rebbe, is the channel through which you will receive blessing and success.

I express the wish that not a day pass without your studying the revealed part of Torah and Chassidus*. In my opinion, you should commit yourself, without making it a vow, at least until the first yahrzeit (i.e., 10 Shevat 5711) — to read each day Tehillim chapter 71,[3] and, in addition, to study each Shabbos and each yom tov a teaching of my father-in-law, the Rebbe — his maamarim, his booklets, and his sichos.

The face is reflected in water as it really is, and in attaching yourself as one should to my father-in-law, the Rebbe, you will receive all his blessings to know material and spiritual success.

You will please, at the best occasion, greet your brother for me.

שלום וברכה!

אחרי הפסקה כה ארוכה שמחתי להפגש אתו, ומפני כמה סיבות ערבה לי הפגישה, הא' מה שפגשתיו בתוך קהל חסידים, הב' ביום הולדת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ ויום גאולתו הוא חג הגאולה לכלנו, ויתר על כן שפגשתיו על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ אשר שם שורה המשכות נעלות ביותר. גם הי' לי קורת רוח מזה שניהל כהנים חסידים אל הציון, אשר ע"י שזיכה את האחרים ודאי שגדול זכותו, והתקשרותו לכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ הוא הצינור שעל ידו יושפע עליו ברכה והצלחה.

הנני מקוה כי לא יעבור יום שאינו קובע זמן ללימוד בתורת הנגלה ותורת החסידות. ולפי דעתי צריך הי' לקבל עליו, בלי נדר, לכה"פ עד היארציט הראשון יו"ד שבט ה'תשי"א לומר בכל יום קפיטל ע"א בתהלים, ונוסף על זה ללמוד בכל שבת ויום טוב איזה ענין בתורת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, במאמרים, קונטרסים או שיחות שלו.

וכמים הפנים אל הפנים, כן התקשרותו כדבעי לכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ תשפיע עליו שפע ברכות להצליח בגשמיות וברוחניות.
