To the great Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Binyamin Eliyahu (note 1: Rav B. E. Gorodetski, of Paris. See, on his subject, Letter no. 4764),

Shalom* u'vracha*,

I have duly received your letter of the first day of Rosh Chodesh* Tammuz*, as well as that of 2 Tammuz*, with what was enclosed therein. At some point, you will surely let me know what the official exchange rate of the franc is. May Hashem* grant that there be, in Denmark (note 2: Where a Yeshivah* was being founded), a good beginning for the spreading of the wellsprings (note 3: Of Chassidus*), in that country as in the neighboring countries. The difficulties that have existed until now will suffice to conclude the period of commencement, for it is said that "all beginnings are difficult," only the beginning.

The wellsprings will therefore spread outward, those of a whole Torah*, both its revealed part and Chassidus*. One confers merit upon propitious days, in this case the 12 and 13 Tammuz* which are approaching, those of the liberation of our master, head of Israel. Indeed, the body follows the head. May Hashem* therefore grant that each of us be liberated, within all of Israel, from all his impediments. The victory will be evident, as was the case at the time, thirty-one years ago. And, with breadth of spirit, one will strengthen oneself in all the domains for which the one whose joy we celebrate gave of himself, namely, above all, the formation of students having the fear of Hashem*, studying the whole Torah*, its revealed part and its profound teaching, fulfilling the mitzvos* of Hashem* in the best manner. With my blessing of success in your sacred mission and to convey good news,

ויהי רצון שיהי' הענין בדענעמארק התחלה טובה להפצת המעינות במדינה זו והמדינות שבסביבתה, ובהעלמות שהיו עד עתה תוגמר תקופת ההתחלה, אשר רק כל התחלות קשות, ויפוצו המעינות חוצה, תורה תמימה נגלה וחסידות גם יחד, ומגלגלין זכות ליומין זכאין הם י"ב וי"ג תמוז הבע"ל גאולת רבנו נשיאנו ראש ישראל הרי גופא בתר רישא גריר, ויהי רצון שיגאל כאו"א מאתנו בתכ"י בגאולה מכל הענינים המבלבלים ובנצחון גלוי עליהם כמו שהי' בימים ההם לפני ל"א שנה, ומתוך הרחבת הדעת יגבירו חיילים בכל אותם הענינים עליהם מסר נפשו בעל השמחה, ולכל לראש בהעמדת תלמידים יראי ה' ולומדים תורתו תמימה (הנגלה והפנימית) ומקיימי מצות ה' בהדור.
