Blessings and greetings,

I received, with pleasure, your letter of 27 Sivan*, in which you describe the development of your group (note 2: The Chabad* women and girls of Cincinnati). May Hashem* grant that this enables you to reveal the deep forces that Hashem* grants you, in order to give this group an even wider dimension, both quantitatively and qualitatively. The effort and attention that result from this are justified, if one tells oneself that each woman must be considered not only individually, but also as representing an entire home, an entire family. I was particularly satisfied to read, in your letter, that you have introduced an activity for women preparing for marriage. This is particularly important, in conformity with the teaching of our masters according to which every process is conditioned by its beginning.

You ask me whether you should declare yourselves and take the name of the Chabad* women and girls group. This is currently the beginning of summer and activity is then reduced, the number of participants diminishes. The moment is therefore not propitious for such an introduction, which will be the object of discussions (note 3: In English in the text, this letter being written in Yiddish), at least on the part of some of the participants. This will be easier when the action intensifies and has a more accelerated tempo (note 4: "Tempo" in the text). This novelty will then be accompanied by other changes and, from then on, it will be only one among many others. Those who seek to raise questions will therefore have less time.

At a propitious moment, I will mention your name, those of your husband and your children at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, so that you may announce to me good news, of your personal concerns as well as your communal achievements, the one depending on the other.
