To the distinguished Chassid* who devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Shlomo Zalman (note 1: Rav S. Z. Shargay. See, on his subject, Letter no. 6266),

Shalom* u'vracha*,

I thank you for your articles and the brochure that you sent me. No doubt you will continue to do so in the future. I thank you in advance. I have, in addition, duly received your letter of 25 Sivan* and, in conformity with our discussion, the Chassidim* of the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt by our righteous Mashiach*, have been informed that, when their difficulties in founding a second Kfar Chabad* in Eretz Yisrael* are resolved, they will be able to contact you and I hope that you will come to their aid (note 2: For the founding of this second village).

Our Sages* say that: "the poor of your city have priority." Despite this, I have good hope that, during your stay outside of Eretz Yisrael* and in the United States, in particular in New York, you will make full use of your influence in order to strengthen the faith, in the spirit of the Tradition of Israel and you will also spread it outside of the Holy Land, in every place you can reach, on the basis of the points we discussed during our conversation. With my respects, my blessing of success and to convey good news,

I have just received your letter, to which was attached a copy of the engineer's letter. I thank you for having sent it to me.

גם מאשר אני קבלת מכתבו מכ"ה בסיון, ומתאים לשיחתנו מודיעים לאנ"ש אשר באה"ק ת"ו ע"י משיח צדקנו, שכשיוסרו הקשויים שלהם בהנוגע ליסוד כפר חב"ד שני באה"ק יבואו אתו בקשר ותקותי שיסייע בידם.

אף על פי שאמרו חכמינו ז"ל עניי עירך קודמים, בכל זאת תקותי חזקה אשר בזמן שהותו בחו"ל ובארה"ב ובניו-יורק בפרט ינצל את השפעתו במילואה לחיזוק הדת ברוח ישראל סבא והפצתה גם בחו"ל בכל מקום שידו מגעת, ועל פי הנקודות שדברנו עליהן במשך שיחתנו.
