To the directors of the youth of the Chabad* association, Melbourne group, may Hashem* grant you long life,

Shalom* u'vracha*,

I am surprised to have had no news of your sacred actions for a long time already. And, those that you were already carrying out previously are no longer sufficient, for one must know elevation in the domain of holiness. It is astonishing that news of your disagreement regarding the action of the youth of the Chabad* association has reached me indirectly. And, my surprise is understandable for, for some time now, the youth of the Chabad* association have been operating in various countries, in the Holy Land and outside of it. Several letters have been written on this subject, defining the purpose of your action and may Hashem* grant that you act in conformity with this program. You will therefore put on the agenda the deepening of these points and, as Chassidus* explains at length, "days were created and, through him, the One Hashem* is found therein," the days granted to a Jew are those that enable him to assume the mission entrusted to him in the world. As the Mishnah* says, the number of days needed is granted, no less and no more. And, the same applies to eagerness. Consequently, when one occupies a part of these days and of this eagerness by devoting them to what does not concern them, it is natural that the mission is thereby called into question. And, one can understand how damaging this is by observing the service of Hashem* as it was performed in the Temple, its most sacred acts. Indeed, our holy Torah*, Torah* of life, affirms that a man who was supposed to sing, if he did the work of the gatekeeper, was liable to death, which Hashem* forbid. You must understand what this means.

May Hashem* grant that you redouble your ardor, to the full extent of what is necessary and even indispensable, in all the domains assigned to the action of the youth of the Chabad* association. Had you proceeded in this manner during the months that have elapsed, the youth of the Chabad* association and their activity would have had an entirely different appearance, as would the Judaism of Australia, in general. In any case, if you do so now, the success will be considerable, in conformity with the assurance given by our masters. We are approaching the days of the festival of liberation of 12 and 13 Tammuz*, a liberation that was totally supernatural. You will therefore convey good news of all this. You will tell me that a modification has occurred, from one extreme to the other and may it even be supernatural, provided that it is effective. Awaiting good news of all this,

לפלא שזה זמן רב ביותר שלא נתקבל מהם כל ידיעות מפעולותיהם בקדש, באלו הפעולות שכבר החזיקו בהם, והרי גם אין זה מספיק, כיון שנצטוינו להעלות בקדש, ולפלא שמן הצד הגיעוני ידיעות ע"ד חילוקי דיעות בהנוגע לתכנית עבודת צעירי אגודת חב"ד, והפלא מובן שהרי צעירי אגו"ח עובדים זה כמה זמן בכמה מדינות הן באה"ק ת"ו והן בחו"ל וכמה מכתבים נכתבו בקשר עם זה, מה מטרת עבודתם, והלואי שימלאו תפקידם מתאים לתכנית זו, ואז יעמידו על סדר היום, האם יש להוסיף בסעיפים אלו, וע"פ המבואר בחסידות בארוכה בהענין דימים יוצרו ולא אחד בהם, הימים שנקצבו לאיש הישראלי, מספר הימים הדרושים לו למלאות שליחות בעולם מתאים לדבר משנה מספר ימים ככל הדרוש, לא פחות, אבל גם לא יותר, וה"ה בנוגע להמרץ, שמזה מובן שכשנוטלים מקצת ימים אלו ומרץ, ונותנים לענינים שאינם שייכים להם, הרי מוכרח שיחסר במילוי תפקידם שלהם, ועד כמה גדול היזק הדבר, מובן ג"כ מעבודת הקדש במקדש שהם העבודות הכי קדושות, ופסקה תוה"ק תורת חיים, שמשורר ששוער חייב מיתה ר"ל, וק"ל.

ויהי רצון שיוסיפו מרץ ככל הדרוש וגם מוכרח בכל סעיפים הקבועים דעבודת צעירי אגודת חב"ד, שבאם היו עושים כזה במשך חדשים שעברו, צורה אחרת לגמרי היתה לצעירי אגו"ח, ועבודתם, וגם צורת היהדות באוסטרליא בכלל, ולכשיעשו עכ"פ עתה בזה, מובטחים הם מרבותינו נשיאנו, נשיאי ישראל, שתהי' ההצלחה בריבוי.

וכיון שמתקרבים אנו לימי חג הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז, גאולה למעלה מדרך הטבע לגמרי, הנה יבשרו טוב בכל האמור, שחל שינוי מן הקצה אל הקצה, ולו יהי' למעלה מדרך הטבע ובלבד שיבוא לפועל.
