To the directors of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* of Lod, may Hashem* grant you long life,

I have duly received your letters of 11, 17, 22, 23, and 24 Sivan*, with what was enclosed therein and the plan of the buildings (note 1: Of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* Lubavitch, in Kfar Chabad*. See, on this subject, Letter no. 6211). Your essential question has already been posed in your previous correspondence. Indeed, the practice is that the plan established during the fundraising appeal is not necessarily representative of what is realized subsequently (note 2: It is only a first project). For, its realization depends on the concrete result of this collection. Therefore, the first plan must be as plausible as possible, before the beginning of the collection, whereas the definitive one will depend on what has been collected.

Among all the plans that I have received until now, I prefer the one in which the buildings are arranged in the shape of a Beis* to the one in which the three buildings are arranged in a line. But, here again, one must take into account what is most common in the Holy Land and the impression this will make on the public. You also mention the appearance of the exterior walls. I have already said, in my previous letter, that it is surprising to squander efforts on such details, which will only be on the agenda after the completion of the building. מאשרים קבלת מכתבם מי"א י"ז כ"ב כ"ג כ"ד סיון עם המצורף אליו וכן תכנית הבנינים.

ובעיקר שאלתם כבר נאמר במכתב הקודם, ז.א. כפי הנהוג בעולם, לא תמיד התכנית בתחלת אסיפת הכספים מחייבת הפועל לאחרי כן, שהי' הבפועל תלוי בתוצאות המגבית בפועל, ולכן התכנית מראש יש לעשותו באופן הנראה יותר בתחלת אסיפת הכספים, ובהנוגע לפועל בהתאם לתוצאות המגבית.

מהתכניות שנתקבלו עתה, נראית לי יותר אותה שהבנינים בצורת בי"ת, ולא כל שלשת הבנינים בשורה אחת, אבל מובן שגם בזה יש להתחשב עם הרגיל באה"ק ת"ו והרושם על הקהל.

במ"ש אודות אופי כתלים החיצונים צ כבר כתבתי במכתבי הקודם, שפלא על פזור הנפש בפרטים כאלו שיעמדו על סדר היום קרוב לגמר הבנין.
