To the Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Yosef Chaim HaCohen (note 1: Rav Y. Ch. Rosenfeld),

Shalom* u'vracha*,

I am responding to your letter of 22 Sivan*. May Hashem* grant that, always and every day, you convey to me good news of your sacred actions and those of your wife, the Rebbetzin*. And, it does not suffice to renew and strengthen what already exists. One must also develop and expand, for we have been enjoined to know elevation in the domain of holiness. We have received this Injunction and it is therefore certain that Hashem*, Creator of the world, Who directs it, instills the forces and the means to put it into practice. You make reference to various circles, with which you have contacts and which you are trying to bring closer. You know the teaching that has been given on this subject: "I will drive him out (note 2: The evil, the evil inclination) little by little," which means that it is not necessary to impose an immense immediate effort, in various domains and in diverse institutions. One must ask what the situation is for each one in particular and prepare him, so that each time, it will be possible to expect a little more of him.

I have learned with pleasure that you have begun to establish a program for the Chassidic* gathering of the festival of liberation of 12 and 13 Tammuz*, which is approaching (note 3: See the end of the preceding letter). One can verify that with preparation introduced sufficiently early, success is infinitely greater. I send you my blessing to convey good news, in a ceaselessly increasing manner. You will convey my greetings to those who participate, with you, in the strengthening of Judaism, in general, and in the spreading of the wellsprings (note 4: Of Chassidus*), in particular. הנה יהי רצון שתכה"י יבשר טוב בהנוגע לפעולות בקדש שלו ושל זוגתו הרבנית תחי' ולא רק ע"ד חידוש הישנות וביסוסם, אלא גם בהתפתחות ובהרחבה, שהרי נצטוינו להעלות בקדש, וכיון שנצטוינו על זה בודאי שהשי"ת בורא עולם ומנהיגו נותן הכחות והאפשריות למלאות הציווי.

ובמ"ש אודות חוגים שונים שבאים עמהם בקישור ומקרבם, הנה כבר ידועה ההוראה בכגון זה, מעט מעט אגרשנו, ז.א. שאין מוכרח להעמיס עליהם תומ"י עבודה גדולה ביותר בכמה ענינים ובכמה מוסדות ויש להתבונן בהנוגע לכאו"א בפרט ולהכינו באופן שפעם אחר פעם יוכלו לבקש ממנו יותר ויותר.

נעם לי להודע אשר התחילו לסדר תכנית לההתועדות דחג הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז הבע"ל, והרי רואים שכשמכינים תכנית בעוד מועד, הרי ההצלחה שלא לפי ערך.

בברכה לבשו"ט ובאופן דהולך וגדול הולך ומוסיף ובפ"ש כל המשתתפים עמדו בעבודת החזקת היהדות בכלל והפצת המעינות ביחוד.
