To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and assumes a sacred mission, Rav Eliyahu Leib (note 1: Rav E. L. Rivkin, of Kfar Chabad*. See, on his subject, Letter no. 5255),

Shalom* u'vracha*,

After a particularly long interruption, I have received your letter, in which you describe the situation of certain classes of the school in which you have the merit of carrying out your sacred mission. In your view, it is difficult to get them to continue their schooling within the Chabad* institutions (note 2: See the following letter). It is quite evident that whoever can exercise an influence in this matter must do so, with the appropriate enthusiasm and in a repeated manner. In such a case, our Sages* say that: "You shall reprove your fellow: even a hundred times," which indeed means that if this reproof has not borne fruit ninety-nine times, which Hashem* forbid, one can, nevertheless, hope that the hundredth will tip the balance toward the good. You must understand this image.

This question is common to all the schools of the network (note 3: Of the Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak* Lubavitch schools in the Holy Land). You must therefore consult with the directors of the other schools or, better still, ask the administration of the network to organize a joint meeting of all these directors. After this, you will address the administration of the Yeshivos* and the Chabad* institutions, so that this initiative has a follow-up. At a propitious moment, I will mention your name at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. The merit of your occupation and your effort, within this holy institution bearing the name of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, will protect you, as well as all the members of your family, in all your needs.

לאחרי הפסק הכי ארוך נתקבל מכתבו, בו כותב ע"ד המצב בכתות המסיימים ביה"ס בו זכה לעבוד בקדש, ושלדעתו קשה לפעול שימשיכו בבתי ספר חב"ד.

והנה מובן וגם פשוט שעל כאו"א שיש בידו לעשות מה בזה צריך להשתדל ובמרץ הדרוש פעם אחר פעם, והרי הזהירו חז"ל בכגון זה הוכח תוכיח אפילו מאה פעמים, ז.א.

שאם אפילו בהתשעים ותשעה פעמים לא הועילה התוכחה ח"ו, בכל זה יש תקוה שהפעם המאה יכריע הענין לטוב, והנמשל מובן. אלא שכיון שבעיא זו צד השוה היא בכל בתי ספר הרשת, צריך להתייעץ עם מנהלי שאר בתי הספר, ומה טוב לבקש מהנהלת הרשת שיערכו אסיפה משותפת מכל המנהלים ולאחרי זה לבוא בדברים עם הנהלת ישיבות חב"ד והמוסדות חב"ד שיוכלו להיות המשך להנ"ל.

בעת רצון אזכירו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, וזכות התעסקותו והשתדלותו במוסד הק' הנקרא על שם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר תעמוד לו ולכל ב"ב בכל המצטרך להם.
