To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav I.,[1]

I greet you and bless you.

Among the areas of activity of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, Merkaz LeInyanei Chinuch and Machne Israel held a very particular place. He personally took on the responsibility for them and himself attended to collecting the funds necessary for their functioning — for the well-known activities as well as those he conducted discreetly, and which are still conducted in this way at the present time.

It is quite obvious that the wish, will, and desire of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, are that all his activities should continue, as before, not only with the quantitative and qualitative dimensions they currently have, but even by developing, expanding, and growing.

Henceforth, the financial responsibility[2] for these various activities rests on all of us, on each of his Chassidim, of those who are attached to him. We must be the channels and receptacles by means of which my father-in-law, the Rebbe, exercises his influence with even more force. For a tzaddik who departs this world is found in all the worlds, including this one, more than during his lifetime.

Consequently, I propose to you to consult with the Chassidim of your city, to create a local committee, common to Merkaz LeInyanei Chinuch and to Machne Israel. This committee will set to work as quickly as possible, according to the conditions of the place, to take on, on a permanent basis, a part of the operating budget of these institutions.

You will please make known to me the names of the members of this committee, so that they will be mentioned at the tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, to be blessed and to know great success in their activity, especially within this committee, and in general for everything that concerns them.

If possible, these names will be transmitted to me so that they may be read before the tomb of the Rebbe on the day of his liberation, the 12th of Tammuz, which is also the anniversary of his birth.

You will consult the Yerushalmi Rosh Hashanah 3:8, the tractate Shabbos 156a, the commentary of Rashi and the Tosafos at this same reference. You will also see the Likkutei Torah, at the beginning of Parashas Haazinu, the series of discourses Mayim Rabim of 5636,[3] paragraph 174, and the discourse "Zos Korban" 5670.[4] This point will not be developed here.

In this manner, attachment to him, to his practices, and to his accomplishments is possible and therefore indispensable, with even more vigor.

I have good hope that you yourself and your friends will give me, as soon as possible, good news of what has been accomplished.

שלום וברכה!

בסניפי עבודת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, הנה ה"מרכז לעניני חנוך" ו"מחנה ישראל" תפסו מקום מיוחד אצלו, באשר אחריות מיוחדת רחש להם בלקחו על עצמו באופן פרטי ואישי את ההשתדלות להמציא את האמצעים הדרושים לההוצאות הכרוכות בעבודתם, הן בחלקה הגלוי הן בחלקה אשר נהל, ומתנהלת גם עתה באופן חשאי.

ברור ופשוט כי כוונת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ וחפצו ורצונו הוא, כי כל מקצועות העבודה הנ"ל יומשכו כמקדם, היינו לא רק בכמותם ואיכותם הנוכחיות, אלא כמו כל עבודה חי' ההולכת וגדלה, מתפתחת ומתרחבת.

אבל עתה אחריות זו הכספית בעד מקצועות העבודה הנ"ל עמוסה על כתפי כלנו, כל אחד ואחד מחסידיו ומקושריו, להיות הכלים והצינורות שבם ועל ידם ימשיך כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ את שפע השפעתו ועוד ביתר שאת ויתר עז, כי צדיקא דאתפטר אשתכח בכולהו עלמין, גם בעולם הזה המעשה, יתיר מבחיוהי.

והנני מציע לכ' להתדבר עם אנ"ש שי' במחנו ולסדר ועד מקומי משותף למרכז לעניני חנוך ומחנה ישראל, אשר בהקדם האפשרי יגש לעבודה בפועל מתאים לתנאי המקום, להמציא באופן תדירי חלק מסוים מהוצאות מקצועות עבודה הנ"ל.

ונא להודיע שמות חברי הועד למען להזכירם על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ לברכה ולהצלחה מרובה בעבודתם בועד בפרט, ובעניניהם בכלל. ואם באפשר להודיע באופן שיזכירו אותם על הציון בחג הגאולה יום י"ב תמוז, אשר הוא יום הולדת את כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ.
