I received, with pleasure, your letter from the thirty-ninth day (note 1: The Rebbe* writes Tal, dew, a term whose numerical value is thirty-nine) of the count of the children of Israel (note 2: The count of the Omer*), in which you tell me that you feel in good health and strong. May Hashem* grant that you be, very soon, fully recovered, in the most literal sense and according to the explanation that is given, on this subject, in the Chassidic* discourse entitled: "Maskil of Eisan*" of the Alter Rebbe*, which is printed in the Kuntres Limud HaChassidus*. Indeed, we find ourselves in proximity to the receiving of the Torah* (note 3: At Shavuos*), which brings healing to the world in general and to the Jews who receive it in particular. And the Mechilta* reports that, in order to receive it, all the children of Israel were in good health and whole. It is known that, more specifically, one receives the Torah* every day, as it is said: "He gives the Torah*," in the present tense. It is therefore every day that a Jew must be in good health and whole, for, according to the expression of the Rambam*, "having a body in good health and whole is part of the ways of Hashem*."

It is surely unnecessary to emphasize to you that you must influence your son so that he fix a time for the study of the profound teaching of the Torah*, which, in our era, has been revealed through the teaching of Chassidus*. Every addition to the Torah* and the mitzvos*, all the more so to its profound dimension that the Zohar* calls "the soul of the Torah*," multiplies accordingly the blessings of Hashem* in all physical and moral needs. I send you my blessing to convey good news and, according to the terms of our master, my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, to receive the Torah* with joy and depth,

נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מט"ל למבנ"י, בו כותב אשר מרגיש בקו הבריאות והתחזקות.

ויהי רצון אשר בקרוב יחזור לאיתנו כפשוטו ולאיתנו כמשמעו כמבואר בד"ה משכיל לאיתן לרבנו הזקן (נדפס בקונטרס לימוד החסידות) והרי נמצאים אנו בימים הקרובים לקבלת התורה, המביאה רפואה לעולם בכלל ובפרט לבני ישראל מקבלי התורה, וכמסופר במכילתא שלזמן קבלת התורה היו כל ישראל בריאים ושלמים. וע"פ הידוע שקבלת התורה - בפרטיות הימים - הרי הוא בכל יום, וכלשון נותן התורה לשון הוה. מובן שבכ"י צריך להיות האיש הישראלי בריא ושלם. ובלשון הרמב"ם: היות הגוף בריא ושלם מדרכי השם הוא...

ובודאי למותר לעוררו שישפיע על בנו הנ"ל שי' לקבוע עתים בלימוד פנימיות התורה שבדורנו נתגלתה בתורת החסידות, והרי ע"י כל הוספה בתורה ומצות ועאכו"כ הוספה בפנימיות התורה שנקראת בזהר הק' נשמתא דאורייתא, נתוסף גם פי כמה בברכות השי"ת בהמצטרך בחיי הגוף ובחיי הנשמה.

בברכה לבשו"ט ובלשון הרב הוא כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, לקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות.
