To the directors of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* in Lod, may Hashem* grant you long life,
Shalom* u'vracha*,
I am responding to your express letters of 15, 17, and 18 Iyar*, with what they contained. As your correspondence indicates, it is judicious to consider the laying of the cornerstone (note 1: See, on this subject, Letter no. 6211) as a plowing or, at most, as a planting, which means that the essential work now remains to be accomplished. Indeed, what matters above all is to acquire the concrete means for this construction. As practice demonstrates, the shorter the interval between the work and the celebration, the better. I am surprised that your description of this celebration and of the Chassidic* gathering that followed it was so brief. Perhaps you will complete it at the next opportunity.
If there is talk of writing a brochure on the occasion of this laying of the cornerstone, no doubt a link can be made with the sixtieth anniversary of the founding of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*. Of course, everything depends on the content of the discourses (note 2: Which will be delivered at the laying of the cornerstone and which will appear in this brochure). If applicable, one can also make reference, in this publication, to the gathering of the month of Elul* and its speakers. With my blessing to convey good news,

נכון הענין וכמשמע גם [מ]מכתבם, דהנחת אבן הפינה ה"ז בגדר חרישה ולכל היותר זריעה, ובעיקר העבודה באה עכשיו, כי הרי סו"ס העיקר הוא השגת אמצעים בפועל להבנין, וכנראה במוחש כל שימעט ההפסק בין העבודה להחגיגה ה"ז משובח.
לפלא שמקצרים כ"כ בתיאור החגיגה והתועדות שלאח"ז ואפשר ימלאו בהזדמנות הבאה...
באם עומד על הפרק עריכת חוברת בקשר עם הנחת אבן הפנה אפשר יש מקום לקשר זה עם יובל הששים להתיסדות תו"ת (מובן שזהו גם תלוי בתוכן הנואמים), ואז אפשר יש לעורר ע"ד הדפסה בהנ"ל גם ע"ד הכנוס דחדש אלול והנואמים.
