To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, to virtuous conduct, Rav Shlomo (note 1: Rav Sh. Perin, of London. See, on his subject, Letter no. 6494),

Shalom* u'vracha*,

I have duly received your letter of Rosh Chodesh* Iyar*, in which you make reference to your wife, Mrs. Feila. I will mention her name once more at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, so that her state of health may improve very soon. You will have, together with her, for long days and good years, much satisfaction, a Jewish satisfaction, from your children and grandchildren.

Moreover, you write to me about the family from which you are descended and several points that you communicate to me were genuinely new to me. This will protect you regarding what has just been said. As you know, our Sages* say that: "when one shoots an arrow into the air, it falls back on its point" (note 2: One always returns to one's source). How much more is this the case for the Chassidic* warmth and enthusiasm that the ancestors received from our holy masters, the founders of Chabad* Chassidus*. It is known that the words and actions of the righteous are immutable, in the most literal sense, in daily existence. Without a doubt, these blessings will broaden those of Hashem* in all that has just been said. Awaiting your good news, I conclude by granting you my material and spiritual blessing.

I have just received your letter announcing the improvement of her state of health (note 3: That of the wife of the recipient of this letter). I thank you very much for it, as well as for the photograph of your granddaughters, who will have long days and good years.
