To the women's division of the Beis Rivkah* schools, in New York, may Hashem* grant you long life,

Blessings and greetings,

I have learned, with pleasure, of your positive activities and of the organization of the annual meeting, which will take place in the coming days, with the help of Hashem*. I hope that it will enable you to broaden your action, which is of the greatest importance for the Beis Rivkah* schools. We are between the festivals of Pesach* and Shavuos*, during which women's participation was decisive. As our Sages* relate, it is by the merit of the virtuous women of the generation that our ancestors were freed from Egypt. Likewise, at the giving of the Torah*, Moshe, our master, addressed the women first, who had raised a generation of devoted children, who subsequently received the Torah* and the mitzvos* themselves at Mount Sinai.

There is indeed a teaching and a course of conduct here for Jewish women, including in our generation. They must be aware of their merit and their responsibility. In our days as well, they can bring redemption to the entire people of Israel, by devoting themselves to the education of Jewish children, their own and those of others, by assisting the schools that provide an education based on sacred values. Of course, Hashem* rewards, with His generous hand, all those who take part in such accomplishments, together with the members of their family, with a triple blessing — children, health, and prosperity in abundance.
