I am responding to your letter of 23 Nissan*. I read with pleasure that you have been strengthening yourself, for some time, in the mercy of Hashem*. Even if you do not specify it, I hope that you have consulted the holy Tanya*, without being affected by the fact that there have been, in the meantime, ups and downs, as it is said: "One nation strengthens against the other." You will consult the index at the end of this book. You cite a saying regarding trials, according to which they are sent to a person according to what he can bear. It is, indeed, regarding this that it is said: "The burden depends on the camel," and Midrash* Bereishis Rabbah*, chapter 32, paragraph 3, specifies this regarding the verse: "The Righteous One distinguishes," as does Yalkut Shimoni*, at the same reference.

You tell me that on the occasion of your study, you remember the tractate Yevamos*, dealing with the pleasure that one provides. This passage (note 1: The Rebbe* notes at the bottom of the page: "You are no doubt referring to tractate Yevamos* 96b") alludes to the reward received for the satisfaction one provides. There is an even stronger explanation, based on the statement (note 2: The Rebbe* notes at the bottom of the page: "Yerushalmi*, tractate Shabbos*, chapter 1, paragraph 2") formulated regarding the verse Tehillim* 39:7, "man walks as a shadow," according to which one who reports words must imagine that their author stands before him. You will consult the Likkutei Dibburim* (note 3: The Rebbe* notes at the bottom of the page: "20 Kislev* 5694, paragraph 5. You will also consult the notes of the Tzemach Tzedek*, Yohel Or, on the Tehillim*, at this reference") of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, who holds wondrous words on this subject.

בעת רצון יזכירו את כל אלה שכותב אודותם על הציון של כ״ק
מו״ח אדמו״ר זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ זי״ע כאו״א למה שנחוץ לו ,והשי״ת
יעזור שגם בזה יבשר טוב.
בטח גם במחנם הט׳ ,עורכים הכנות ליום הבהיר י״ט כסלו יום
הגאולה של אדמו״ר הזקן תורת החסידות עניני׳ והדרכותי׳ ,וזכות בעל
השמחה אדמו״ר הזקן יעמוד לכאו״א בתכ״י במצטרך לו בגשמיות
וברוחניות.
