By the grace of Hashem*,

26 Nissan* 5718,

Brooklyn,

Shalom* u'vracha*,

I am responding to your letter of 23 Nissan* and, at a propitious moment, I will mention your name and that of the young woman you cite at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, in accordance with what you write for each one.

Regarding your question, experience has proved that with a pleasant attitude, one knows success more clearly and more quickly. Similarly, practice demonstrates that one more effectively detaches a person from undesirable behaviors when an effort is made through concrete action, by entrusting a positive role to the person in order to make them understand that they have not chosen the right path. One will do all of this as if one had no ulterior motive, involving them in this action casually, as if it were natural. This is self-evident. Certainly, in such a case, someone must protest against their behavior. But, from what I deduce from your letters, it is the father's responsibility to do so, with all necessary vigor. Furthermore, an indulgent attitude does not exclude a benevolent protest. With my blessing to convey good news of all this,
