Igrot Kodesh · Letter 6183 — Faith & Bitachon

By the grace of Hashem*,

13 Nissan* 5718,

Brooklyn, New York,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav A. D. (note 1: Rav A. D. Feller),

Shalom* u'vracha*,

I have received, with pleasure, the brochure entitled Shalom*, pertaining to Pesach*, as well as the one preceding it. In the future, you will surely continue to send me everything that is published for the Jewish soldiers placed under your responsibility. I thank you in advance. I am sending you excerpts of what was said at the Chassidic* farbrengen*, as well as a copy of the letter addressed to all (note 2: This refers to Letter no. 6179), on the occasion of the festival of Pesach*. All of this will surely interest you and, furthermore, may be useful to you in your work. In fact, these words were spoken with the aim of drawing the attention of the greatest number of Jews, including, of course, among those who benefit from your influence. You will therefore know how to penetrate their hearts.

This is also one of the points of the Pesach* Seder*, at the beginning of which the four sons are gathered together. These then divide into four different categories. Then, at the end of the evening, all respond in unison, with the appropriate enthusiasm: "Next year in Yerushalayim*!" It is known that Yerushalayim* symbolizes "perfect fear," as the Midrash* Rabba specifies, at Parshas* Bereishis*, chapter 56, paragraph 10, and as the Alter Rebbe*, author of the Tanya*, explains at length in his Likkutei Torah*, section Devarim*, regarding the verse: "They will come, those who are lost in the land of Ashur and those who are driven out in the land of Egypt." The majority of these four sons are distributed among these categories (note 3: However, the Rebbe* explains elsewhere that there exists a fifth, one who does not bother to attend the Seder*). Thus, "they will prostrate themselves before Hashem*, on the holy mount, in Yerushalayim*." With my blessing for a kosher* and joyful festival of Pesach*,
