By the grace of Hashem*,

I am responding to your letter in which you inform me of your studies at the vocational school of Kfar Chabad*. You conclude by telling me that your family is experiencing difficulties in ensuring its subsistence. Consequently, someone suggested that you might leave the school and enter the workforce as a laborer, in order to make your personal contribution to the family's earnings.

As you know, the Creator of the world, Who gives the Torah*, is the One Who feeds and provides sustenance for all. Consequently, if you pursue your studies with the appropriate ardor and enthusiasm, it is certain that you will bring, in this way, the broadest contribution possible to the family's needs. It will not be the same if you stop studying in order to go work, Hashem* forbid. Indeed, a simple reasoning will allow you to establish that by continuing your studies, you will specialize and, in a few years, you will earn your living far better than by remaining a simple laborer. May Hashem* therefore grant that, with peace of mind, you devote your time to the study of the Torah*, with ardor and enthusiasm, and accomplish the mitzvos* in the best manner. May Hashem* bless all the members of your family in each of their needs. With my blessing for a kosher* and joyful festival of Pesach*,

במענה למכתבו בו כותב מלימודו בבי"ס למלאכה בכפר חב"ד ומסיים בהנוגע להמצב הפרנסה הדחוקה בביתם, ואשר לכן עלה בדעתו של מי שהוא, שאפשר יצא לעבוד כפועל וכו' בשביל לסייע להפרנסה.

והנה ידוע אשר בורא העולם נותן התורה הוא הזן ומפרנס לכל, ולכן ודאי אשר באם ימשיך בלימודו ובהתמדה ושקידה הראוי' זהו הסיוע היותר גדול שיוכל לסייע בפרנסת הבית, ולא על ידי זה שיפסיק ח"ו מלימודו ויתחיל לעבוד, נוסף גם על החשבון הפשוט, שבאם ימשיך בלימודו ובמילא יעשה מומחה במקצוע, יוכל להשתכר (לאחרי שנים) הרבה יותר מאשר כפועל פשוט, ויהי רצון אשר במנוחת הנפש יקדיש זמנו ללימוד התורה בהתמדה ושקידה ויקיים המצות בהידור, והשי"ת יברך את כל בני הבית בהמצטרך להם.
