To the eminent Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*, of multiple accomplishments, Rav Nissan (note 1: Rav N. Telushkin, of Brooklyn. See, on his subject, Letters no. 6056, 6270, and 6416),

Shalom* u'vracha*,

I have received, with pleasure, your letter of 4 Nissan*, with its contents. As you ask me, I will mention all those you cite at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, in accordance with what you write to me. May Hashem* grant that you convey good news of all this to me. I have also received, in due time, news of the joyful celebrations of our friends, the Chassidim*, in Miami (note 2: Where Rav Telushkin was no doubt spending some time, perhaps because he was invited to one of these joyful celebrations), of the public Tanya* class that was established in that place. Before leaving, you will surely appoint a replacement in order to strengthen all of this. Moreover, we are asked not only to strengthen, but also to develop what pertains to the Torah* and the mitzvos*. Now, "the Holy One, blessed be He, does not act with treachery toward His creatures" and He asks us to carry out such action. He therefore grants, from the outset, the means to put His commandment into practice. Everything therefore depends on the one who initiates. In this case, I have been told from there of the impression made by your Tanya* class. If you correspond with those who will attend to this class, if, from time to time, you emphasize its importance and necessity, I have good hope and I am certain that you will succeed. Indeed, the assurance has been given that words emanating from the heart penetrate into the heart.

On the occasion of the festival of Matzos*, the time of our freedom, which approaches, for us and for all Israel, for the good, I herewith send you my blessing for a kosher* and joyful festival, for a genuine freedom, freedom from material worries and from moral worries, from everything that prevents one from serving Hashem* with joy and enthusiasm. Then, this freedom and this joy will continue throughout the entire year, all the more so since the service of Hashem*, as our Torah*, Torah* of life, commands, extends to everything concerning man, to the entirety of the day and of the night, as it is said: "In all your ways, know Him." With my blessing on the occasion of the festival and to convey good news, for long days and good years,

בנועם קבלתי המכתב מד' ניסן עם המוסגר בו, וכבקשת כת"ר יזכירו את כל אלה שכותב אודותם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע מתאים לתוכן כתבו, ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל האמור.

כן בעתו קבלתי ידיעות משמחות מידידינו אנ"ש אשר במיאמי, ע"ד לימוד תניא ברבים בשיעור אשר נקבע שם, ובודאי קודם נסעו מינה מ"מ בכדי לחזק הענין ובפרט שנצטווינו לא רק לחזק אלא גם להוסיף בעניני תורה ומצות, וכיון שאין הקב"ה בא בטרוניא עם בריותיו ונצטווינו לעשות, מכין ה' מראש את האפשרויות למלאות הציווי, ואין הדבר תלוי אלא בהמעורר וע"פ מה שכתבו לי משם ע"ד רושם לימוד התניא, תקותי באם יעמוד בקישור מכתבים עם העומדים בראש השיעור ומזמן לזמן יעוררם בחשיבות הענין ובנחיצות ההמשך בזה, בודאי שיצליח, וכבר הובטחנו דברים היוצאים מן הלב נכנסים אל הלב.

ולקראת חג המצות, זמן חירותנו, הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לחג כשר ושמח ולחירות אמתית, חירות מדאגות בגשם ומדאגות ברוח, מכל דבר המעכב עבודת ה' בשמחה ובטוב לבב.

ולהמשיך מחירות ושמחה זו בימי כל השנה כולה.

ובפרט שעבודת השם, כמצווה עלינו בתורתנו תורת חיים, שהרי היא בכל עניני האדם ובמשך כל היום וכל הלילה, וכמו שנאמר בכל דרכיך דעהו.
