I am responding to your express letter from the eve of Rosh Chodesh* Nissan*. In general, the idea of acquiring a house with more than one dwelling is judicious, for an obvious reason. Housing expenses are then much less significant, especially since, in general, there is also, in such a case, a large garage.

You mention the risk that the second dwelling may remain unoccupied for a certain time. One must verify whether this risk is well-founded, depending on the conditions of the neighborhood in which this house is located. May Hashem* grant, whichever solution is adopted, that all of this be for the good, a visible and tangible good. You will surely distribute Matzah Shemurah*, in accordance with the well-known discourse dealing with this subject. With my blessing for a kosher* and joyful festival of Pesach*,

בכלל הסברא לקנות בית של יותר מדירה אחת, נכונה היא, וכן נוהגים פה, ומטעם הפשוט, כי אז ההוצאות דירה דלעצמו קטנות בהרבה יותר, ובפרט שע"פ הרוב ישנו גם גאראזש גדול יותר וכו'.

החשש שכותב שמא תעמוד הדירה השני' איזה משך זמן פנוי' יש לברר היש יסוד לזה מתאים לתנאי השכונה בה נמצא הבנין.

ויהי רצון שבאיזה אופן שיהי' תסתדר שאלתו באופן הטוב בטוב הנראה והנגלה.
