You ask me (note 1: This letter is addressed to Rav Yaakov Reinitz. It was written on his own letter of 22 Shevat 5718) in what manner to deliver instruction to students who are about to leave the Yeshivah* (note 2: After having completed their studies there). It is evident that there are no immutable principles in this matter.
In general, our conception is set forth in the Kuntres Etz HaChaim*, by the Rebbe Rashab*, father of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. However, in our impoverished generation (note 3: From the standpoint of its knowledge of Torah*), it is necessary to add, in all classes, a study of the laws that one puts into daily practice.

...במש"כ ע"ד אופני הלימוד לתלמידים העומדים לצאת מכותלי ישיבה - מובן שא"א לקבוע בזה מסמרות. וכללות שיטתנו הוא ע"פ מש"כ בקונטרס עץ החיים לכ"ק אדמו"ר (מהורש"ב) אביו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע. אלא שבדורנו דור עני מוכרח להוסיף - וכן בכל הכיתות - לימוד הל' הצריכות בחיי יום יום.
