By the grace of Hashem*,

11 Adar* 5718,

Brooklyn,

Shalom* u'vracha*,

I am responding to your letter from this Friday, requesting a blessing. At a propitious moment, I will mention your name at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, so that you may obtain the fulfillment of your needs, in accordance with what you write to me. In such a prayer, one also mentions the name of the mother and you will kindly communicate it to me, in Hebrew.

It is no doubt unnecessary to point out to you that the more one intensifies one's commitment to the Torah* and the mitzvos*, the more one multiplies the blessings of Hashem* in all one's needs. Moreover, a Yeshivah* student must intensify his study of our holy Torah*, which is also called Torah* of life, including in the literal sense, in this world.

You allude to forgetfulness. As you know, there exists a favorable practice in this matter. One must observe the ritual immersion of Ezra, study the Torah* and pray with a book and a Siddur*, know by heart several chapters of Mishnah* and at least one of Tanya*. Likewise, it would be good, every weekday, before the morning prayer, to set aside a coin for tzedakah*.

With my blessing,

On behalf of the Rebbe, shlita*,
