Concerning the matter that is known (note 1: The need to become engaged), you tell me that "the prisoner does not free himself." It is quite evident that this was not said regarding this matter, since our Sages* affirm that one is obligated to search, as one would do precisely for what one has lost, that is, with the greatest eagerness.
May Hashem* grant that the Injunction of our holy Torah* regarding the month of Adar* be concretely fulfilled — that one must multiply one's joy. This is indeed a joy linked to a visible and tangible good, in accordance with the distinction made between Purim* and Chanukah* (note 2: At Purim*, the danger was physical and what is concrete therefore assumes greater importance. The danger of Chanukah*, by contrast, was solely moral). In fact, in this case, the miracle assumed a natural appearance through the intermediary of an engagement and a marriage (note 3: Of Esther* and Achashverosh*).

...במ"ש בענין הידוע שאין חבוש מתיר את עצמו, מוכרח שלא על ענין זה נאמר הדבר, כיון שחיי בוהו חז"ל לחפש ודוקא כאדם המחזר אחר אבדתו ז.א. במרץ הכי גדול, ויהי רצון שיקוים במוחש ציווי תוה"ק בהנוגע לחדש אדר להרבות בשמחה, שהכוונה לשמחה בטוב הנראה והנגלה (וכמבאור החילוק דפורים וחנוכה), והרי כל הנס בזה דרכו בטבע הי' ע"י שדוך ונשואין.
