I received, some time ago, your letter briefly describing your activity to disseminate the wellsprings (note 2: Of Chassidus*) and to strengthen Judaism in general. I am surprised since then, that is, since the end of Kislev*, to have had no news from you. No doubt you will transmit them to me soon, for it is a certainty that an emissary fulfills the mission entrusted to him. Now, every Jew is the emissary of Hashem*, charged with disseminating Judaism and everything that pertains to it in an ever-increasing manner, for "one ascends in holiness" and nothing withstands determination.

You ask me about certain customs that the Chassidim* adopt in the Holy Land. You will address yourself to the elderly Chassidim* who are on the spot. You make reference to the blessing on the trees. This is clearly cited in the Alter Rebbe's* laws of blessings. That of the rainbow, on the other hand, is not cited there, no doubt because the rainbow appeared only rarely in those regions (note 3: In Eastern Europe. See, on this subject, Likkutei Sichos*, vol. 10, page 200), but it is indeed recited, in accordance with the teaching of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, which is reproduced in the Hayom Yom* (note 4: At the date of 29 Tishrei*).

זה מזמן נתקבל מכתבו בר"פ מפעולותיו בהפצת המעינות ובהחזקת עניני יהדות בכלל, ולפלא שמאז (ז.א. משילהי כסלו!) אין ידיעות ממנו, ובטח ימלא בקרוב עד"ז, שהרי חזקה שליח עושה שליחותו, וכאו"א מישראל שלוחו של מקום הוא להפיץ יהדות ועניני', ובאופן דהולך ומוסיף כי מעלין בקדש, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון.

בשאלתו ע"ד איזה מנהגים שבאה"ק ת"ו איך יעשו אנ"ש שי' - יחקור בזה אצל זקני אנ"ש אשר שם.

במש"כ ע"ד ברכת האילנות וכו' - הרי הוזכרה בפי' בברה"נ לאדה"ז. ואפילו ברכת הקשת שלא הוזכרה שם (כנראה מפני שאינה מצוי' כ"כ באופן המדינות) - מברכין אותה, וכהוראת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הועתקה בהיום יום.
