I have received your letter in its time. Naturally, being at a distance, I cannot enter into the heart of the matter and the disagreements that exist among you. It is quite clear that this has caused me much pain. What is evident and indispensable is that peace must reign among all those who are interested in strengthening Judaism, who devote themselves to it, who disseminate it in your city, particularly when it concerns education based on sacred values.

If you truly desire to bring the hearts closer together and to ensure that peace reigns among you, you will surely succeed in obtaining it, "as the face reflects in water." In this way, Hashem*, blessed be He, Who possesses peace, Who establishes it in the heights, Who has found no other vessel to contain blessing, will grant His blessing of peace, the heavenly blessing and success, so that you will know success in your sacred mission, particularly in the domain of good education, which determines the formation and the destiny of many Jewish men and women. Every effort, every impetus in this matter is therefore justified.

I know that a distinguished communal leader, a man of quality, of generous conduct and who faithfully assumes his mission, is currently in your city and in your country. I have good hope that, through his intermediary, peace will grow, flourish, and multiply very soon in your city.

בעתו קבלתי מכתבו, וכמובן אשר בריחוק מקום אי אפשר להכנס בגוף הענין והחילוקי דיעות שביניהם. ואין צריך לומר שהענין גרם לי צער רב.

מה שברור ומוכרח הוא שיהי' שלום בין כל אלה המעונינים ועוסקים בהחזקת היהדות והפצתה במחנם ובפרט בשטח החינוך על טהרת הקודש, ואם ירצו באמת לקרב הלבבות זל"ז שיהי' השלום שורר ביניהם, הרי בטח ימצאו הדרך לזה, וכמים הפנים אל הפנים כו', ואז יתן השם יתברך ויתעלה, שהשלום שלו ועושה שלום במרומיו ולא מצא כלי מחזיק ברכה אלא השלום, את ברכתו שלום וישפיע ברכה והצלחה ממרומיו שיצליחו בעבודתם בקדש וביחוד בשטח החינוך הכשר. וכיון שדבר זה נוגע לחינוכם וגורלם של כו"כ מבני ובנות ישראל, כדאית כל יגיעה והשתדלות בזה.

בידעי אשר העסקן הנכבד והנעלה איש המעלה בעל מדות תרומיות מו"מ באמונה וכו' וכו'... נמצא כעת במחנם ובמדינתם, התקוה תאמצני שעי"ז יצמח ויגדל ויתרבה השלום במחנם בקרוב ממש.
