To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Shlomo Zalman (note 1: Rav Sh. Z. Shargai. See, on his subject, Letter no. 4531),

To follow up on our conversation and the correspondence that followed it, regarding the boats (note 2: Israeli boats traveling during Shabbos. See, on this subject, Letter no. 5898), and although I have had no further news since then, you are no doubt doing everything in your power, in accordance with what we discussed.
As we had agreed, I enclose a copy of the English translation of my letter. This letter, although it is not exhaustive, enumerates various elements of the operation of a boat that render necessary the transgression of labors forbidden by the Torah*. Now, it is impossible to avoid them when operating any boat, including the most modern and most automatic.

במהשך לשיחתנו (וחליפת מכתבינו מאז) בהנוגע לשאלת האניות, הנה אף שלא שמעתי שוב מכ"מ עד"ז, אבל בטח עושה בזה ככל יכולתו מתאים למה שנדברנו.
ומוסג"ב - כמדובר - העתק מנוסח מכתבי באנגלית שנמנו בו כמה פרטים - אבל לא כולם -בהנוגע להנהלת אני' שיש בהם מלאכה דאורייתא שאי-אפשר לבטל אותם בהנהלת איזו אני' שהיא לרבות הכי חדישות והכי "אוטומטיות"...
