Igrot Kodesh · Letter 6088 — Prayer
Volume 16 · Letter 317
By the grace of Hashem*,
4 Adar* 5718,
Brooklyn,
To the Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*, Rav Nachum (note 1: Rav N. Hanoun, of Jerusalem. See, on his subject, Letter no. 2752),
Shalom* u'vracha*,
I have received your request for a blessing, which will be read, at a propitious moment, at the resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. I am responding to your question, posed on behalf of the leaders of your synagogue, which concerns the time for studying a Chassidic* discourse between the paragraph Ke Gavna* (note 2: Of the Friday evening prayer) and the prayer of Arvit* (note 3: See, on this subject, Letter no. 5717).
If your question is a clarification of the Halachah*, you must know that in Lubavitch, when one interrupted the reception of Shabbos* to recite a Chassidic* discourse, one did so between the "Psalm and Song for the day of Shabbos*" and Ke Gavna*, but not after Ke Gavna*. On the other hand, regarding the customs of Jerusalem in particular, it is appropriate to ask the elderly Chassidim* who are on the spot.
With my respects and my blessing,
The secretary,
