I have received your book: "Reflections on the Sidros," as well as a press clipping. I wish you Mazal Tov* on this publication. No doubt you are doing what is necessary to distribute it in the proper manner, and I am surprised that you did not take advantage, for this purpose, of the semi-annual meeting of the rabbinical union, which took place last week. Representatives of numerous synagogues were participating in it.

Likewise, I am surprised that your book has no introduction, which goes against common practice. In such a book, this would have been particularly important. It would have been necessary to explain from the outset that this book can be useful for delivering a discourse. For, this is what is most sought in such places (note 2: Among Rabbanim, synagogue leaders). Certainly, this absence can be partially compensated for by the articles of critics that you will endeavor to have published. However, this cannot be compared to a few lines appearing in the book itself, as a foreword or even on the title page.

May Hashem* grant that each one have the merit of possessing both a good intention and good deeds, in accordance with the deep purpose, the essential point, which is the dissemination of the wellsprings (note 3: Of Chassidus*) to the outside.

מאשר הנני קבלת ספרו רעיונות על הסדרות וכן הקטע ממכ"ע ומזל טוב אשר הופיע כבר בדפוס, ובטח עושה כפי הדרוש בהנוגע לפרסומו באופנים המתאימים, ולפלא שלא ניצל האסיפה חצי השנתית של אגוד הרבנים שהיתה שבוע העבר, והרי שם נאספו מכמה בתי כנסיות וכו' כן לפלא אשר חסרה הקדמה להספר, היפך הנהוג בכגון דא, ובהנוגע לספר כגון דא, נוגע ביותר - שצריך הי' שיהי' ניכר תומ"י שאפשר לנצל הספר בהנוגע לדרשות שהרי זוהי הסחורה המהלכת ביותר במקומות אלו, אף שבמקצת יש למלאות הדבר ע"י מאמרי הבקורת שישתדל שיפרסמו אודותו, אבל מובן שאין זה דומה אם הי' בספר עצמו עכ"פ איזה שורות עד"ז אם בהקדמה או גם על השער...

ויהי רצון שיזכה כאו"א שהן כוונתו והן מעשיו יהיו רצוים ומתאימים לתכלית הפנימית והנקודה העיקרית היא הפצת המעינות חוצה.
