You have informed me of your birthday, and here is my response. You have surely adopted the recent Chassidic* custom for the day of one's birthday. May Hashem* grant that you have a year of success in the study of the Torah* and in the practice of the mitzvos*, in the best manner (note 1: This letter is addressed to a student of the Yeshivah).

I send you my blessing to study the Torah* with fear of Hashem* and that you finally become aware that you must conform to the instructions of the administration of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*, of which Divine Providence has made you a student, and put them effectively into practice. For, it is also for those who possess deep knowledge and for those who can study on their own that the conclusion of the discourse of Simchas Torah* 5667 was pronounced (note 2: 1906, by the Rebbe Rashab*. See the Toras Shalom*, pages 77 and 78).
