I have learned, to my great surprise, that to this day there is no tombstone on the grave of your father. Moreover, the construction necessary to prevent the grave from sinking has not been done either. In fact, the grave is sinking and is abandoned.

All of this is particularly surprising, but perhaps the information is erroneous. If, however, this is indeed the case, it is clear that you must do everything in your power to rectify this situation as quickly as possible. You know the wondrous words of the Zohar*, vol. 3, at the end of Parshas* Bechukosai*, which address this subject. Moreover, the Halachah* on this matter is ruled by the Shulchan Aruch*.

Some dispute the practice of waiting twelve months before placing the tombstone, given its great importance. How much more so must this be the case after these twelve months have elapsed. It is surely unnecessary to say more, so evident is this. I await good news in all these domains, as quickly as possible. I thank you for this.

בתמהון גדול הגיעתני ידיעה, אשר עד היום אין כל מצבה ואין כל ציון על קבר אביו ע"ה, ולא עוד אלא שגם הבנין הנעשה בשביל שלא ישקע הקבר אינו, ובמילא שוקע הקבר ועזוב.

והנה אפשר לגודל התמי', שכל הידיעה אינה אמיתית אבל פשיטא שאם כן הוא הדבר, הרי בודאי יעשה כל התלוי בו לתקן הענין בהקדם הכי אפשרי, וידועים דברים הנפלאים בזהר חלק ג' סוף פרשת בחקותי שנוגע גם להנ"ל נוסף על הפס"ד בשו"ע, ואם ישנם כמה שמערערים על הנוהג לחכות בהקמת מצבה עד לאחר י"ב חדש מפני גודל ענין המצבה עאכו"כ לאחר י"ב חדש, והאריכות בדבר הפשוט אך למותר ואצפה לבשו"ט ממנו בכל הענינים בהקדם ות"ח.
