To my close relative, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*, Rav Naftali* (note 1: Rav N. Dolitski, of Tel Aviv),

Shalom* u'vracha*,

I have received your letter, in which you briefly describe the Chassidishe farbrengen* and the greetings that were conveyed during it. You also speak of the Chassidishe farbrengen* of 24 Teves*, date of the Hilloula* of the Alter Rebbe*. May Hashem* grant that these words of encouragement have a concrete effect, in accordance with the will of the one whose Hilloula* we celebrate, our great master.

One understands the value of such an activity, particularly in light of what was explained during the Chassidishe farbrengens* of the days of Kislev*, month of deliverance, regarding the virtue of tzedakah*, especially that of which it is said: "He has distributed" (note 2: Generously to the poor), particularly when it is destined for Eretz Yisrael*, land of life, as various passages of Iggeres HaKodesh* demonstrate.

It is therefore certain that the One Who commands the mitzvah*, Who directs the world and accords His Providence* to each individual, will fulfill the words appearing in the continuation of that same verse: "his lot will be elevated in honor." And it is explained that this lot is connected to the Sefirah* of Malchus*, the Attribute of Divine Royalty, which is, in the simplest sense, the creative force found within creation. Nothing should be separated from its plain meaning, and what you write in your letter therefore applies to each person. I await good news of all this, as well as of the greetings and the various points of the Chassidishe farbrengen* that you conveyed to the Chassidim* of the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו, בו כותב ר"פ מההתועדות ומסירת הפ"ש וכן מהתועדות דכ"ד טבת יום ההילולא של רבנו הזקן, ויהי רצון שדברי התעוררות יפעלו בהנוגע למעשה ומתאים לרצון של בעל ההילולא נשיאנו הגדול, והתעסקות בהאמור ובעיקר ע"פ מה שנדבר בימי ההתועדות דחדש כסלו הוא חדש הגאולה במעלת הצדקה וביחוד הענין דפזר נתן וביחוד צדקת ארץ ישראל ארץ החיים מיוסד ע"פ אגה"ק בכו"כ מקומות בודאי שמצוה המצוה שהוא מנהיג העולם והוא משגיח על כאו"א בהשגחה פרטית, יקיים האמור בהמשך הכתוב קרנו תרום בכבוד, וע"פ המבואר בענין הקרן שזוהי ספירת המלכות שפשטות ענינה כח הפועל בנפעל עולמנו הזה ובהנוגע לעשי' והבפועל - שבזה יהיו שני הענינים תרום, ולא זו בלבד אלא שההרמה תהי' בכבוד, ואין מקרא יוצא מידי פשוטו, ופשוט שזוהי חל על כאו"א מהענינים אודותם מזכיר במכתבו, ואחכה לבשו"ט בהנ"ל וכן אשר מסר פ"ש ונקודות מההתועדות גם לאנ"ש אשר באה"ק ת"ו.
