To the leaders of Kfar Chabad*, in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt by our righteous Moshiach*, may Hashem* grant you long life,

Shalom* u'vracha*,

I am responding to your letters and your reports (note 1: The Rebbe notes in the margin: "Of 3, 15, 24, 29 Kislev, 8 Teves, to the letter of 10 Teves with what it contained. For a certain reason, I have not yet acknowledged receipt of the reports of 7 and 11 Elul"):

A) It is absolutely evident that there is no reason to consider a village or a quarter that would be co-managed by a party, even the best one. This runs entirely counter to the position of our holy masters, by virtue of which Chabad* belongs to no party. Its profound objective is to disseminate the wellsprings* (note 2: Of Chassidus) until they reach the exterior, and all the more so those who are not on the exterior. Now, a party, whatever it may be, harms this endeavor and everything that follows from it. I am therefore particularly surprised that you could even consider such a hypothesis.

B) It appears that there has been a misunderstanding regarding my position on the new quarter of the present Kfar Chabad*. Indeed, you presumably thought that it should consist exclusively of housing, whereas I was alluding to a development of Kfar Chabad* in everything that concerns it, particularly in the agricultural domain. Accordingly, one should give preference to farmers among those who settle in this new quarter, as I said in my previous correspondence. This means that one should also allocate plots of land for agriculture, in the literal sense, or at the very least for a vegetable garden or a chicken coop.

C) I am also surprised regarding the Mikveh*. Very frequently, new and entirely unexpected difficulties arise. Now, many mikvaos* have been built in the Holy Land and, without a doubt, there exist experts in this matter — not only learned theoreticians, but also those who know the concrete practice. Why does one not seek their counsel? To avoid such surprises, especially regarding a Mikveh*, I wrote to you several years ago to underscore the importance of this point. For the time being, I have not had the merit of witnessing the construction of an honorable Mikveh*.

To prevent additional steps that would tend toward establishing a partnership with a party, the present letter is sent by express. I also send you my blessing to strengthen and develop Kfar Chabad*, in accordance with the will of its founder, who directs it — my father-in-law, the Rebbe* — and to convey good news, materially and spiritually. Finally, I enclose a copy of my letter to Mr. Korn (note 3: This is Letter no. 6018). You will surely consult with one another regarding what I underscored in this copy. I also thank you for forwarding the enclosed correspondence, as quickly as possible, to the youth of the Chabad association at Kfar Chabad*.

במענה על מכתביהם והפ"כ*

א) מובן ופשוט בתכלית שאין כל מקום לסברא ע"ד כפר או שיכון שיתופי עם מפלגה - אפילו הטובה ביותר, שהרי זהו בנגוד גמור ומוחלט להנהגת רבותינו נשיאינו, שענין חב"ד הוא על מפלגתי, ותעודתו הפנימית הפצת המעינות עד שיגיעו גם חוצה, ופשיטא לשאינם בחוץ, שמפלגה, איזה שתהי', ה"ז מפריע בגוף העבודה ובסניפי' ולתמי' גדולה ביותר, אפילו על הקס"ד דענין מוזר שכזה.

ב) כנראה שחל איזה אי הבנה בדעתי בהנוגע להשכון החדש בכפר חב"ד דעתה, שכנראה פירשוה שאין זה אלא בדירה לחוד, בה בשעה שכוונתי היתה שזהו הרחבת כפר חב"ד בענינו, אשר הנקודה הראשונה החקלאות, ובמילא למתיישבי השכון, דין קדימה לחקלאים וכו' וכמו שכתבתי במכתבי הקודם, שמזה מובן שהענין קשור גם בהקצבת חלקי אדמה, אם לחקלאות במובנה הפשוט, או לגן ירק, לול עכ"פ.

ג) בענין המקוה גם בזה תמוה, מה שלעתים תכופות ביותר מתחדשים קישוים בלתי צפוים כלל וכלל, שהרי כו"כ מקואות נבנו באה"ק ת"ו, ובודאי שנמצאים מומחים במקצוע זה, מומחים לא רק בשכל עיוני, אלא גם בהנוגע למעשה בפועל, ולמה לא מתייעצים עמהם. סו"ס בכדי לשלול ההפתעות האמורות, ובפרט שבענין המקוה התחלתי לכתוב לעורר עד"ז לפני כמה שנים, ועד עתה לא זכיתי שתהי' מקוה משופרת זו בפועל.

בכדי לשלול צעדים נוספים בענין שותפות עם מפלגה, נשלח המכתב מהיר דחוף.

בברכת הצלחה לביסוס והתפתחות כפר חב"ד מתאים לרצון מיסדה ומנהלו כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר ולבשו"ט בגו"ר.
