To the Rabbanit* Leah (note 1: Mrs. L. Chen, of Jerusalem),

I bless you and greet you,

I received your letter in its time and my response was delayed, because I wanted to know, precisely, in what manner the studies are organized in your home. I therefore learned, with pleasure, that the class is regular, that it has preserved the form and the content it had previously, during the lifetime of your husband, the Rav* (note 2: Rav Avraham Yehudah Chen), may he rest in peace. There is in this a very important accomplishment — a pleasure given to the soul of the one who has departed this world. Indeed, within his four cubits, in the literal sense and in the spiritual sense — that is, within his family in general and his close ones in particular — one is engaged in the direction that will bring about the elevation of the soul in the World of Truth.

May Hashem* grant that, for many more years, you derive great satisfaction from all your children — satisfaction in accordance with the hope of the one who departed this world. For long days and good years, you will announce good news to me, about yourself and about them.

You surely know that, at the end of last summer, your husband, the Rav*, sent manuscripts of Chassidus* here (note 3: See, on this subject, Letter no. 5488). I hope to soon be able to devote some of my time to examining their content. If it merits publication and this has not yet been done, these texts can be published for the elevation of his soul, since he sent them here in order for them to be published.

ברכה ושלום!

בעתו קבלתי מכתבה, ונתעכב המענה שלי, מפני רצוני להוודע יותר ברור בהנוגע לסידור הלימודים בביתם, ונעם לי לקבל ידיעות אשר השיעור נלמד בקביעות ובהמשך ובאותם הענינים בם למדו בחיים חיותו של בעלה הרב ע"ה להבדיל בין חיים וכו'.

והרי זוהי המעלה הכי גדולה בקורת רוח שגורמים לנשמת נפטר כשממשיכים באותן ד' אמות כפשוטו ובד' אמות רוחנים, ז.א. המשפחה בכללה ובני הבית ביחוד, באותו הכיוון הגורם עליית נשמה בעולם האמת.

ויהי רצון אשר עוד רבות בשנים תרווה רוב נחת מכל יו"ח שי', נחת מתאים לתקותיו של הנפטר, ולאורך ימים ושנים טובות תבשר טוב בהנוגע לעצמה ובהנוגע להם.

בטח נודע לה שבסוף קיץ העבר שלח בעלה הר"ב ע"ה ביכלעך חסידות לכאן, ותקותי שאוכל בקרוב להקציב מזמני לעבור על תוכן ביכלעך אלו, ובאם ימצאו בהם ענינים הראוים להדפיסם, שעדיין לא נתפרסמו, יוזכר בההדפסה שזהו לעילוי נשמת הנפטר ומהביכלעך ששלח ע"מ לפרסם את הראוי לפרסום.
