To the great Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Chananya Yom Tov Lippa* (note 1: Rav C. Y. T. L. Deutsch, of Cleveland, Rabbi of Helmits. See, on his subject, Letter no. 5855),

Shalom* u'vracha*,

I have received your letter from this Monday. To someone such as yourself, it is surely unnecessary to express appreciation for your efforts and your involvement concerning the mikveh* of Toronto. May Hashem* grant that it be completed as quickly as possible and in the best possible manner.

As I wrote to someone (note 2: See Letter no. 5968) these days, the Alter Rebbe*, in the Iggeres HaKodesh*, chapter 21, emphasizes the value of eagerness in the practice of all mitzvos*, and especially this one, which is, moreover, a form of tzedakah* and good deed, as specified in the Iggeres HaKodesh*. Our Sages* emphasize its great importance, even if it is merely a matter of gaining a single day, according to Tractate Eruvin* 63b.

How much more so is this the case in our generation of the ikvesa d'Meshicha*, as the end of our exile approaches, as my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, specified on numerous occasions. Indeed, "purity leads to... (note 3: holiness, and holiness brings about the coming of) Eliyahu HaNavi*," the herald of the redemption. The effort of men brings about the revelation of Hashem* and the fulfillment of the promise according to which: "I will take you... I will sprinkle pure waters upon you... You shall dwell in tranquility... You shall be My people and I will be your Elokim*."

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מיום השני, ובודאי לדכוותי' אך למותר להביע תודה להשתדלותו והתעסקותו בענין המקוה טהרה דעיר טרנטה, ויהי רצון שיבוא הדבר לפועל בהקדם הכי אפשרי ובהידור הכי גדול, וע"ד שכתבתי לאחד ימים אלו, ע"פ המבואר באגרת הקדש לרבנו הזקן סי' כ"א גודל מעלת הזריזות בכל המצות, ובפרט מצוה האמורה, אשר גם בה יש מעין הצדקה ועשיית חסד המבואר באגה"ק שם, וידוע עד כמה הפליגו רז"ל בענין זה אפילו בקדימת יום אחד (עירובין סג, ב), וביחוד בדורנו עקבתא דמשיחא אשר מתקרב קץ גלותנו (וכידוע ביאורי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע כ"פ) אשר טהרה מביאה כו' אלי' הנביא מבשר גאולתנו, ובאתעדל"ת אתעדל"ע בקיום היעוד ולקחתי אתכם וגו' וזרקתי עליכם מים טהורים וגו' וישבתם לארץ וגו' והייתם לי לעם ואנכי אהי' לכם לאלקים.
