After a particularly long interruption, I have received your letter of 29 Kislev*, the month of deliverance, in which you briefly describe the actions carried out in connection with the luminous day of 19 Kislev*, the festival of the victory and the deliverance of the Alter Rebbe*, as well as of all those who are bound and attached to him. May Hashem* grant that a motivation result from this for the entire year, in the thoughts, words, and actions of each day.

It is no doubt unnecessary to remind you, and all those who are active in this matter, that it is necessary, afterward, to maintain contact with all the participants in these Chassidishe farbrengens*. It is explained elsewhere that such a gathering serves to plow and to sow or, at most, to begin the harvest. The essential part of this harvest, however, comes afterward. This is self-evident.

You inform me that your sister's wedding has been set for the month of Menachem Av*. I am, of course, surprised by such a long delay, all the more so since the engaged couple is in the same city. Likewise, it is surprising to have chosen Menachem Av*. During this period of the year, the beginning of Tamuz* is preferable to any day of Av*. You should consult, on this subject, the Tosafos*, at the end of Tractate Megillah*, and the responsa of the Chasam Sofer*, Orach Chaim* section, chapter 160. Certainly, objections have been raised against the assertion he formulates, but why should we intervene in this matter? From this standpoint, the sooner the better — this is self-evident.

You mention the place where the couple will settle after the marriage, at a good and fruitful time. It would be good to choose a city in which one fears Hashem*, where the price of housing is affordable, at least relatively.

לאחרי הפסק הכי ארוך, נתקבל מכתבו מכ"ט כסלו, הוא חדש הגאולה, בו כותב ר"פ אודות הפעולות בקשר עם יום הבהיר י"ט כסלו חג הנצחון והגאולה של רבנו הזקן וכל השייכים ומקושרים. ויה"ר שתפעול ההתעוררות על כל השנה כולה במחשבה דבור ומעשה בחיי היום יומים.

ובודאי למותר לעוררו, וכל המשתדלים בזה, לעמוד בקישור עם המשתתפים בהתועדות גם לאחרי זה, וכמבואר במ"א אשר התועדות היא ע"ד חרישה וזריעה, ולכל היותר ראשית הקצירה - אבל עיקר הקצירה צ"ל לאחרי כן, וק"ל.

במ"ש אודות קביעות זמן חתונת אחותו תחי' לחדש מנ"א, מובן הפלא על אריכות הזמן, ובפרט שהחתן והכלה נמצאים בעיר אחת. וכן בעצם הענין דקביעות לחדש מנ"א, שאפילו בחדשים כגון דא - טוב יותר בתחלת תמוז מאשר באיזה יום שיהי' בחדש אב.

[להעיר מתוס' סוף מגילה השו"ת חת"ס חלק או"ח סי' ק"ס, ואף שהקשו עליו בזה, בכ"ז מה לנו וכו']. ועל כגון נידון דידן - כל ההקדם בזה ה"ז משובח, וק"ל.

במ"ש אודות מקום דירת הזוג לאחרי החתונה בשעה טובה ומוצלחת, נכון הדבר - במקום ועיר דיר"ש ושמחיר הדירות הוא בזול, עכ"פ זול לפי ערך.
