Igrot Kodesh · Letter 5967 — Health

(3 Teves* 5718)
I received your letter with great satisfaction. You describe to me the Chassidishe farbrengen* on the luminous day of 19 Kislev*, the date of the liberation of the Alter Rebbe*. Our holy masters designate this day as the Rosh Hashanah* of the study of Chassidus* and the Chassidic ways.
On Rosh Hashanah*, one says: "May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year," and the same applies on 19 Kislev*, regarding what has just been said. Among the Chassidic ways, there is also the practice of serving Hashem* with joy and enthusiasm, in accordance with the important explanation of the Baal Shem Tov* that we heard from my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, who emphasized the necessity of serving Hashem* also with one's body, without breaking it through fasts and mortifications.
May Hashem* grant that you always announce good news to me, in good health and in serving Hashem* with joy and enthusiasm.
