Shalom* u'vracha*,

I have received your letter of 27 Kislev*, which refers only very briefly to the cornerstone-laying celebration (note 2: Presumably of the new building of Beth Rivka of Melbourne) and does not say a word about the Chassidishe farbrengen* on the luminous day of 19 Kislev*. Now, as I have already written to several Chassidim*, in various places, it is clear that everything related to Chassidus* and all its institutions are members of a single organism. The effort and the addition, in the proper manner, in one domain, therefore take nothing away from the other institutions and the other domains of Chabad* — quite the contrary.

How much more so is this the case for the Chassidishe farbrengen* of 19 Kislev* in Melbourne. It is evident that you can gather many people from the city and, even if one does not speak there of the Yeshivah* and Beth Rivka*, the closeness that is established, by itself, and the words of Chassidus* that are spoken must necessarily have their effect — including for the Yeshivah* Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak* and for Beth Rivka*. But perhaps you are relying on someone else to write to me. And the consequences are the same as for any other "pot belonging to partners" (note 3: Which none of them uses, each relying on the other).

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מכ"ז כסלו, הכתוב גם הוא בקיצור נמרץ בהנוגע לחגיגת הנחת אבן הפנה, ואין בו כלל בהנוגע להתועדות יום הבהיר י"ט כסלו, וכבר כתבתי כ"פ לכמה מאנ"ש בכ"מ, אשר ברור הדבר שכל עניני חסידות ומוסדותי' אברים דקומה אחת הם, ובמילא השתדלות והוספה בענין אחד באופן המתאים, לא לבד שלא תחסיר במוסדות וענינים אחרים דחב"ד אלא אדרבה ואדרבה, ובפרט בהתועדות י"ט כסלו במעלבורן, שבודאי יכולים הם לאסוף כו"כ מאנשי העיר, הרי פשיטא שאפילו אם לא היו מדברים בפירוש ע"ד הישיבה ובית רבקה, הרי התקרבות עצמה ודברי חסידות הנשמעים שם, מוכרח לפעול פעולות גם בהנוגע לישיבת אהלי"י וב"ר, ואפשר סומך על מי שהוא אחר שיכתוב, וכנראה שהתוצאות כבכל קדירא דבי שותפי...
