section, may Hashem* grant you long life,

I bless you and greet you,

I have received your contribution to the collection on the luminous day of 19 Kislev*, the day of the liberation of the Alter Rebbe*, author of the Tanya* and the Shulchan Aruch*, for the benefit of Shikun Chabad*, in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt by our righteous Moshiach*. You will find enclosed a receipt.

May Hashem* grant that, for many more years, you be able to fulfill mitzvos*, in an ever-increasing manner, in accordance with the teaching of Chanukah*, since one kindles each day a greater number of lights. Without being affected by what takes place in the street, as Chanukah* also teaches, one kindles candles precisely when the sun sets outside, when it is veiled, so that darkness sets in.

Moreover, during the first days of the first Chanukah*, when the miracle occurred, it was observed that, in a natural manner, this light could illuminate for only a single day, given the quantity of oil available. But the Jewish people placed their firm trust in Hashem* and, in this way, that small quantity of oil burned for eight days, until more could be produced.

So it is in our era. By strengthening their faith and their unwavering trust in Hashem*, Creator of the world, Who directs it, the Jewish people can illuminate within themselves and around them, materially and spiritually, far, far beyond what appears possible in a natural manner. As in that era, you will do all of this in good health and with joy.

I address my blessing to all the women and girls of Chabad*, with all their families, for a luminous Chanukah* and to preserve this clarity throughout the entire year, among all of Israel.
