himself to communal needs, Rav Avraham Chanoch* (note 1: Rav A. Ch. Glitsenstein, of Lod. See, on his subject, Letter no. 5871),

I reproduce here the text of the telegram sent by the Rebbe, shlita*, to the youth gathering and to the Tzahal* gathering, which took place this 19 Kislev*:

"To the youth gathering: The content of the victory of 19 Kislev* is as follows. Each man and woman is connected to our Torah*, Torah of daily life, obligated to put it into practice in all its parts, by virtue of the love that the Creator feels for us.

May Hashem* grant that this inflame the hearts of the youth, who are our future, especially in Eretz Yisrael*. They will orient their lives by the light of the Torah*, of the mitzvos*, of their luminary. They will spread it throughout their surroundings, with Chassidic warmth. Then this youth will be happy, will have a life full of content, fulfillment, and peace.

To the Tzahal* gathering: In addition to what has just been said, may Hashem* grant that you benefit from the discipline, the team spirit, and the individual valor that characterize you (note 2: Which are the fundamental values of an army). Indeed, the conduct of an individual influences — sometimes even decisively — the fate of the many, the building of the traditional Eretz Yisrael* and its protection. For your camp shall be holy, and Hashem* Elokim* will be present there.

לכינוס הנוער: תוכן הנצחון די"ט כסלו שתורתנו תורת חיים יום יומיים ולכל חלקי' כל אחד ואחת שייך ומחוייב בהם מאהבת הבורא אותנו, יהי רצון שילהיב את הנוער עתידנו ובפרט שבארץ הקדושה לכוון חייהם לאור התורה והמצוה והמאור שבהם ולהפיצם בכל סביבתם בחום חסידותי ואז מאושרים יהיו בחיים מלאים תוכן ושלימות ושלום.

לכינוס צה"ל: נוסף על הנ"ל, יהי רצון שתנצלו עניניכם דקבלת עול שיתוף פעולה והכרת היחיד שהנהגתו משפיע ולפעמים גם מכריע גורל הרבים לבנין ארץ ישראל סבא ולהגנה עליו כי יהי' מחניכם קדוש וה' אלקיכם יתהלך בקרבכם.
