By the grace of Hashem*,

18 Kislev* 5718,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Yaakov* (note 1: Rav Y. Horowitz, of Ramat Gan),

Shalom* u'vracha*,

After an interruption, I have received your letter of 12 Kislev*, and merit is conferred upon a favorable day — that of the liberation and victory of Chassidus*, the luminous day of 19 Kislev*. In the expression of our holy masters, this date has been called the Rosh Hashanah* of Chassidus* and the Chassidic ways. At an auspicious time, I will mention all those you cite at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, so that each may obtain the satisfaction of his needs, in accordance with what you write.

You perform acts of gemilus chassadim*, including in a moral sense, through the public Torah* teaching you deliver. And I have good hope that you mix into it "a measure of salt" (note 2: Which, according to the Gemara, is placed in the granary to preserve the wheat) — that is, Chassidus*, Chassidic conduct, and Chassidic discourses. Regarding this "measure of salt," you should consult the Likkutei Torah*, Parshas* Vayikra*, the commentary on the Chassidic discourse entitled "Do Not Eliminate," chapter 5. The merit of these acts will protect you and all those you cite, so as to obtain the satisfaction of your needs and success in what concerns you. This includes this very activity as well (note 3: The acts of gemilus chassadim), for in the words of the Mishnah*, "one mitzvah* draws another" and "the reward of the mitzvah* is the mitzvah* itself."

You will surely participate in the Chassidishe farbrengen* on the luminous day of 19 Kislev*. May Hashem* grant that its imprint be preserved throughout the entire coming year.

לאחרי הפסק נתקבל מכתבו מי"ב כסלו, ומגלגלין זכות ליום זכאי, יום הגאולה והנצחון של תורת החסידות הוא יום הבהיר י"ט כסלו, אשר בלשון רבותינו נשיאנו הק' קבעו לו השם ראש השנה לחסידות ולדרכי החסידות.

ובעת רצון יזכירו את כל אלה שכותב אודותם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע כאו"א להמצטרך לו מתאים לתוכן כתבו.

וזכות התעסקותו בעניני גמ"ח כפשוטו, ובעניני גמ"ח ברוחניות ע"י לימודו שיעור ברבים [ותקותי חזקה שמערב בזה קב חומטין, ז.א. מעניני תורת החסידות והנהגותי' והשיחות שלה (יעוין הביאור דקב חומטין בלקו"ת ויקרא ביאור לד"ה ולא תשבית סעיף ה')], יעמוד לו ולכל אלו שכותב אודותם להמצטרך להם ולהצלחה בעניניהם, ובזה גם עסקנותו האמורה וכפסק המשנה מצוה גוררת מצוה, ושכר מצוה מצוה.

בודאי ישתתף בהתועדות יום הבהיר י"ט כסלו, ויהי רצון שיהי' רישומה ניכר משך כל השנה הבע"ל.
