By the grace of Hashem*,
13 Kislev* 5718,
To the participants in the Chassidishe farbrengen* on the day of the
liberation and victory of the Mitteler Rebbe*,
may Hashem* grant you long life,
Shalom* u'vracha*,
I have received, with pleasure, your letter written on this date during the Chassidishe farbrengen*.
May Hashem* grant that the blessings each Jew bestows upon others be fulfilled in a visible and tangible good. You know the decision of the Heavenly Court, reported by the Alter Rebbe* (note 1: See, on this subject, Letter no. 5899), according to which "what a Chassidishe farbrengen* can accomplish, the angel Michael cannot accomplish."
One mitzvah* draws another, and the Chassidim* of Toronto will surely organize a Chassidishe farbrengen* on the luminous day of 19 Kislev*, the Rosh Hashanah* of Chassidus* and the Chassidic ways. The Alter Rebbe* and his son, the Mitteler Rebbe* (note 2: See, for example, Letter no. 5893), emphasize that this is indeed a head — Rosh* — and not merely a beginning. For the head carries within it the vitality of all the limbs of the body, and similarly, Rosh Hashanah* encompasses within it all the days of the year. May Hashem* grant that the inspiration continue and that its imprint be preserved throughout the entire coming year.

ויהי רצון שתקוימנה ברכות כאו"א מבני ישראל איש לרעהו בטוב הנראה והנגלה, וכבר ידוע פס"ד של מעלה כסיפור רבנו הזקן, וז"ל דאס וואס עס קען אויפטאן א חסידישער פארבריינגען קען מלאך מיכאל ניט אויפטאן.
ומצוה גוררת מצוה שבודאי יתועדו אנ"ש בטאראנטא ביום הבהיר י"ט כסלו ר"ה לחסידות ודרכי החסידות, ו"ראש" הרי ביאר רבנו הזקן ובנו אדמו"ר האמצעי דיוק הלשון ראש ולא תחלה, שהראש כולל חיות כל אברי הגוף, כן ר"ה כולל כל ימי השנה, ויהי רצון אשר תומשך ההתעוררות ויהי רישומה ניכר בכל ימות השנה הבע"ל.
