Greetings and blessings,
I have duly received your letter requesting a blessing, dated Rosh Chodesh* Kislev*, the month of miracles and liberation. At a propitious moment, your name will be mentioned near the holy resting place (Ohel*) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us.
It is surely unnecessary to specify that if a Jew must, in every place, adopt conduct worthy of the title he bears and that was conferred upon him by the Creator of the world — his belonging to "a kingdom of priests and a holy nation" — an additional obligation falls upon those who are in the army. Indeed, our holy Torah* states: "Your camp shall be holy." Moreover, this concerns also all those who are there with you. For the same verse states: "Hashem is found in your camp." It is only on this condition that "your camp shall be holy."
May Hashem grant that you find the words to explain all of this to yourself and to all those around you, that your words emanate from your heart, so that they penetrate their heart and have their effect.
You will surely organize a Chassidic* gathering (farbrengen*) on the coming 19th of Kislev*, a luminous day and a propitious day. May Hashem grant that the motivation strengthen action in daily conduct, in accordance with the teaching of our holy Torah*, Torah* of life.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו פ"נ מר"ח כסלו הוא חדש הנסים והגאולה,
ובעת רצון יזכירוהו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.
ובודאי למותר לעוררו, שאם בכל מקום צריך איש היהודי להתנהג מתאים להתואר שלו, שניתן לו מבורא עולם, ממלכת כהנים וגוי קדוש, חוב נוסף בזה לאלו הנמצאים בצבא, וכציווי הנוסף בתורתנו הק', והי' מחנך קדוש, ולא עוד אלא שנוגע זה לכל אלו הנמצאים אתו, וכמבואר שם בכתוב, כי ה' אלקים מתהלך בקרב מחנך - באם - והי' מחנך קדוש, ויהי רצון שימצא אותיות מתאימות להסביר לעצמו את הענין וכן לכל אלו הנמצאים בסביבתו ויהי רצון שיהיו דבריו יוצאים מן הלב ובמילא יהיו נכנסים אל הלב ויפעלו פעולתם.
בודאי יתועדו ביום י"ט כסלו יום הבהיר ויום הסגולה הבע"ל, ויהי רצון שההתעוררות תביא להוספה במעשה בהנהגה היום יומי כפי הוראת תורתנו הק' תורת חיים.
