To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, with numerous accomplishments, carrying out a sacred mission, Rav Shmuel (note 1: Rav Sh. Chefer, of Tel Aviv),
Greetings and blessings,
I read with pleasure in your letter that you envision the possibility of having your students participate in the Chassidic* gathering (farbrengen*) on the luminous day of the 19th of Kislev*. Until that date, you will have sufficient time to prepare for it in the proper manner, as you specify in your letter. The merit of the public will assist you in obtaining increased divine help and achieving success in this matter.
Perhaps it is also feasible for your former students to join you as well. A well-known saying defines what a Chassidic* gathering can accomplish. An intervention and effort in this matter are therefore justified. It is a propitious moment and a favorable time to be positively impressed and to retain its imprint afterward, for several weeks, several months. The past has proven that this is indeed the case.
May Hashem grant that the merit of the one whose joy we celebrate (note 2: the Alter Rebbe*, who was freed on this day) on the luminous day of the 19th of Kislev* protect each person within all of Israel, so as to achieve success in communal accomplishments and personal concerns — the one depending on the other — especially for those who possess an aptitude for pedagogy and teaching.

...שמחתי לקרות במכתבו, ע"ד האפשריות דהשתתפות תלמידיו בהתוועדות דיום הבהיר י"ט כסלו, והרי מכאן עד אז די זמן להכנה מתאימה כלשונו במכתבו, וזכות הרבים מסייעתו לתוספת סייעתא דשמיא להצליח בזה, ואפשר יש מקום לצרף לזה גם מושפעיו בעבר, וע"פ הפתגם הידוע בפעולת התועדות חסידותית, כדאית השתדלות ויגיעה בזה, כיון שעת רצון היא ושעת הכושר להתרשמות באופן שתהי' פעולתה ניכרת לכמה שבועות וחדשים לאחרי זה, וכמו שראה במוחש גם בעבר.
ויהי רצון שזכות בעל השמחה דיום הבהיר י"ט כסלו תעמוד לכ"א בתכ"י להצליח בענינים הכללים ובענינים הפרטים שבכלל זב"ז תלוי וביחוד באלו שחוננו בכשרון לחינוך והשפעה.
