To the Rav*, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and carries out a sacred mission, Rav Saadya (note 1: Rav S. Liberov, of Sefrou, Morocco; see on his subject letters no. 4940 and 6031),

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter of 18 Marcheshvan*, in which you tell me that during your journey, you conveyed my greetings to the Chassidim* in the places you passed through. You also tell me the words you spoke before them. May Hashem grant that they have their effect. For if of the Torah* as a whole it is said, "Great is study that leads to action" — far beyond one who studies without intent to practice — how much more so for Chassidus* and all that pertains to it. Indeed, our holy masters demand that one establish a practical conclusion (tachlis*) of every idea.

You refer to the study of French or Arabic (note 2: which was being requested for introduction in the Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak* Lubavitch schools in Morocco). One must hope that all of this will be delayed, for "when a judgment is postponed until tomorrow, it is annulled." In any case, it is clear that coordination is necessary among all the Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak* institutions in the country where you currently find yourself. Thus, not only will there be no contradictory positions from one to another, but moreover, all will assist each other. And it is regarding this that it is stated: "He ascends with him but does not descend," Heaven forbid. If a concession is made in a certain place out of necessity, one must delay matters in the other places, from one week to the next, from one month to the next — naturally, in a diplomatic manner.

I send you my blessing for your sacred mission, whose profound dimension, like that of our generation, is the spreading of the wellsprings* (note 3: of Chassidus*) outward. Indeed, our generation is that of the "heel of Moshiach*," which will also be that of the beginning of the redemption, very soon and in our days, through our righteous Moshiach*.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מח"י מ"ח, בו כותב אשר דרך נסיעתו מסר פ"ש לאנ"ש שי' במקומות שעבר, שגם איזה מהענינים שנדברו. ויה"ר שיפעלו הדברים פעולתם, כי אם בכל התורה נאמר גדול תלמוד שמביא לידי מעשה וק"ו הלומד ע"מ שלא לעשות וכו' - עאכו"כ בהנוגע לתורת החסידות ועניני', כידוע דרישת רבותינו נשיאינו הק' שמכל עניני' יהי' בכן דוקא.

במ"ש אודות ענין הלימוד צרפתית או ערבית וכו' - יש לקוות שימשך הדבר (פארציהען), ובת דינא בטל דינא, ובכ"א מובן שצריכים להתדבר ביניהם, כוונתי כל מוסדות אהלי"י אשר במדינתו עתה, בכדי שלא לבד שלא תהי' סתירה מדברי אחד לחבירו, אלא יתוסף עוד סיוע. ומובן שבכגון דא נאמר, עולה עמו ואינה יורדת ח"ו, ז.א.

שבאם אפילו באיזה מקום יהי' וויתור ע"פ ההכרח, יש להמשיך (פארציהען) הענין בשאר המקומות משבוע לשבוע ומחדש לחדש וכו', ובאופן דיפלומטי דוקא.

...בברכת הצלחה בעבודתו הק', שנקודתה הפנימית כמו נקודה הפנימית של כל דורנו זה - הוא הפצת המעינות חוצה, שהרי הוא דרא דעקבתא דמשחיא שהוא גם הדור דהתחלת הגאולה, במהרה בימינו ע"י משיח צדקנו.
