Greetings and blessings,
You ask me once again about the event of 13 Tammuz* (note 1: on this date, the recipient of this letter had been unable to put on tefillin*). The repair, in this instance, must be carried out in the domain where the deficiency manifested itself.
The profound dimension of this (note 2: of the mitzvah* of tefillin*, which is the subjugation of the heart and the brain) is, in this instance, explained by the Shulchan Aruch* and reproduced by the Tanya*, at the beginning of chapter 41. The repair will therefore be an addition to the fervor of this mitzvah*. Now, everything concerning the Jewish people is expressed through the Torah* and revealed through its channel. One must therefore learn by heart Chassidic* discourses commenting on the subjugation of the heart and the brain, and then recite them at the appropriate times.
